It doesn't matter, (x-1)/(y-1) is lower than x/y. y can be 53 or 59 or whatever any number you want.
It doesn't seem so difficult to me. If you play a basic land on first turn, what's the chance of getting a land on second turn? 19/59=0.32. If you play and use a fetchland on first turn, what's the chance of getting a land on second turn? 18/58=0.31. And so on.
After trying this I can say it doesn't work. With these few creatures you get an average of two creatures per game. A couple of anti creature and you are over.
Are you sure you want to stay in Legacy just for those 3 cards? They can be replaced by a lot of sacrifice-and-draw-low-cost artifacts, like Chromatic Sphere, Chromatic Star. Also Ichor Wellspring is even better than the cards you have put, because you draw when it comes into play and you draw when it's sacrified. Also you can replace the Great Furnaces with Darksteel Citadel, no problem for the colored mana because you can transform the colorless mana into colored with 8x Chromatic Sphere, Chromatic Star. P.S. You can also consider adding a couple of Apostle's Blessings... you really freak out when you have your 16/16 Atog and he gets Path of Exiled...
This deck only works because of Dark Ritual, otherwise you would never be able to cast Hauntig Echoes. If you go in modern you are screwed because you must remove Dark Ritual, if you stay in Legacy you match up with other Legacy freakness.

Have you tried this online or only with your playgroup?
Why do you need Urborg if you have only swamps? Why use Polluted Delta as a fetchalnd and not Terramorphic Expanse or Evolving Wilds since you have only swamps? Why not putting 4 Shrieking Affliction since it's one of the two cards that make you win the game?
