I just always loved this deck, and thought I would update it with some infinite combo ability. The original was one of my favorite combos of all time. Is that point enough, or should there be broad, far reaching philosophical impact analysis involved?

Oh, sorry... I just figured everyone knew about this deck, its was world tour 1998 champion... the key is getting survival of the fittest and recurring nightmare out quickly, you have 4 of each and and 6 library searching spells. Really its the Survival of the Fittest you need most. You dump all of your creatures in the graveyard, and with Recurring Nightmare you have an unlimited toolbox of utility ("when creature comes into play abilities")

Once you have control of the game you grab one of your finishers like Spirit of the Night out of the graveyard or you can just do the infinite combo (I stole that from Project X) Teysa/Saffi/Crypt Champion, you can get all the peices of the combo with just 3 green mana (Survival of the Fittest pumped 3 times)... and one recurring nightmare in hand = infinite creature tokens... Thats just there for fun though, I generally like to smash them in the face with the Spirit of the Night

also, once you survival of the fittest a couple of times, lets say 5 or 6 times, the deck thins to the point that top decking a recurring nightmare is very high. Better decks out there, and this one is just one I put together quickly off of the top of my head, I haven't played magic in 3 years or so, so there are probrobly better "when comes into play" creatures out there I don't know about. It may not when 1st place every time, but its respectable consistant.

A wrath of god creature would be nice. Or a Pyroclasm creature.... there are probrobly all kinds of cards that would go great in this deck.

My advice would be to build this deck online or in a program, or if you have the cards, go ahead and build it for real, and see how the combo works. Think of it this way, this deck has 8 cards in it: 4x Survival of the Fittest and 4x Recurring Nightmare. Every other card (besides mana) can go in the graveyard (and usually does) for all the person playing it cares. Its all about those two cards.

A nice card for this combo would be Protean Hulk. When it hits the graveyard you search you library for up to 6 casting cost worth of creatures and put them into play. Gets you the Saffi Crypt Champion combo from the library in one fell swoop.

The Protean Hulk is cool, looks like he has lots of synergy here, I could put him in play, and then switch him with something else like dessolation angel with Recurring Nightmare, then I can get 2 maybe 3 creatures from my library... and it doesn't have t be the combo, it could be any of the utility creatures too... I like this hulk fellow, He could populate the board in a single turn late game...
hmmm...

1998 World Champion you say? But I only started playing in '03! The deck looks scary.
But! Coming out of Standard, Bogardan Hellkite absolutely loves coming into play! 5 as you chjoose divided among any critters and players, plus a 55 flying beater for your trouble.
