Deck Description

The second in a series of decks focused around unblockable (and often hexproof or otherwise untouchable) creatures. Unlike many Aura decks focused around such creatrues, these try and do thing a little...differently.

How to Play

These decks all focus on blue as the primary color. Why? Primarily because of Invisible Stalker, who has gained quite the reputation with the rise of Bant Aura decks in recent times. I've dabbled with him over the last year and a half, initially going for an odd Human deck centered around him, Blighted Agent, and equipment that got better with Humans (Silver-Inlaid Dagger being the best example).

You'll notice shades of that continue here, but this goes in a much different direction than that deck or the Aura decks that have cropped up recently. This one is made to hopefully have some more interesting and enjoyable interactions.

Our first pairing was Dimir colors, probably the easiest fit on the surface thanks to their many unblockable creatures over the years. A pairing that doesn't at first seem nearly as obvious is Simic colors, blue and green. But there are some hidden gems here, especially Elusive Krasis, who fits this sort of deck like a glove. One key is to maximize his evolve capability by sprinkling in high-power creatures. Latch Seeker fits right in. Æther Figment (paying the kicker) becomes an intriguing option. And Hunted Phantasm, despite its drawback, can help really push the Krasis over the top. Who cares that much about a few little Goblins when your net gain is two 4-power unblockable creatures?

And thanks to green offering Quest for the Gemblades, you can quickly boost them ever further. Land some small blows early to turn them into finishing blows late. Green also lets us pull in Asceticism, which grants all your unblockables hexproof AND allows you to regenerate them if the opponent then gets board-wipe-happy. Combining these colors makes Simic Charm a great addition, able to provide protection, remove key counterattacking creatures, and boost your unblockables to really accelerate the pain. And of course, what would green be without mana acceleration? Farseek is never a bad option to help ramp up to cards like Coastal Piracy and Asceticism all the faster.

Seems pretty simple...probably TOO simple. Any tips or tricks to make this deck better? What are some of YOUR ideas?
