Deck Description

Death by a thousand pinpricks. And the best part is, the opponent really does it on their own!

How to Play

Based loosely off a deck I played against recently. The idea is to slap a bunch of cheap enchantments on the opponent's creatures and lands and then sit back and let them basically bleed out. Stab Wound is a constant drain as long as the creature has at least 3 toughness. (It's really funny to put one or two on an indestructible God.) Sinister Possession further shuts down creatures from attacking without more damage being inflicted. Contaminated Ground punishes land use, and is especially nice to put on opposing shocklands or Temples. Shrieking Affliction zaps them if they don't keep a couple cards held back in reserve...and then Sire of Insanity forces them to discard it all anyway. (Don't worry...Underworld Connections can restock your own hand.) Fate Unraveler penalizes for card draws and can really make blue players weep. Mogis obviously wracks up the damage too, but be careful if they have a lot of creatures with Stab Wounds or Sinister Possessions, as Mogis could actually be counterproductive if played at the wrong time. Erebos keeps them from getting life back, and should be able to enter play as a big beater or blocker with all the cheap black enchantments that should already be in play. And finally, Blightcaster makes creatures -2/-2 (optionally) whenever one of that myriad of enchantments enters play.

Gary is an alternate wincon, since you'll hopefully have a ton of enchantments out for it to spot, and good old-fashioned kill spells can get rid of particularly troublesome creatures or opposing planeswalkers.

The sideboard primarily goes for a different approach: burn. If the opponent is low on creatures to enchant or has some other way of combatting the primary approach, side in burn and throw it at their face. Or if they have a TON of creatures, Rakdos Charm's third mode can really bring the pain.

What do you think? The original was pretty effective when I played against it, and that really just had Stab Wound and Contaminated Ground.

Any ideas to make this better? Your input would be most appreciated!

Deck discussion for Stop Hitting Yourself!

I like the concept a lot, and would HATE to play against this deck.

This card, which was spoiled recently, would be a good fit for the sideboard, possibly even main deck:

Good thinking!

Yeah, it was painful to play against. If you can't beat 'em.... ;-)

another good card for your deck would be the spoiled Doomwake Giant with the constellation mechanics, also this: http://www.mythicspoiler.com/nyx/cards/masterofthefeast.html basically push them into drawing cards to make fate unraveller good against any deck and its a 5/5 beatstick in the air for a finisher if need be! Also works with blightcaster and doomwake .
