I played a similar deck in legacy and thought this would work as a modern translation. The goal is to shut down the, "ramp until a fattie" decks. Early game LD will shut almost any deck down. While many of the cards have mutual LD, fetches, Flagstones, and loam will patch up my mana base quickly.
