Thanks for reminding me of the rules on involuntary infinites. Though warstorm surge would work, i went with claws of gix because the deck already is heavy on mana cost and I should have a sac outlet to deal with control magic.

the reason for search is because it allows to get any basic land untapped the turn its cast. And being able to suspend it on turn one is usually the best thing that can be done on curve. while seek does get a land, it doesnt actually ramp as much as dig for a land for that turn. and pilgrimage is just a weaker cultivate or kodama's reach unless i have spell mastery.
Also, i believe mana confluence would be strictly better than city of brass in this deck, but i havent gotten around to buying it yet. That and original duels and gaea's cradle would be optimal for this deck.
the token generation isn't as important compared to the counter duplication that cathars' crusade and doubling season are. Similar cards like hardened scales, corpsejack menace, and twilight drover are okay, but arent exactly my style enough to be run. But if you want to reduce the cost of the deck to exclude the pricetag of doubling season id put in parallel lives. As well as include other token generation spells like martial coup or entreat the angels (I don't like army of the damned because the 13 2/2's usually get wrathed and come into play tapped.) Another thing i have failed to mention is that beastmaster ascension could be included to suppliment a more aggressive playstyle.
I might sideboard in the birthing pod, but looking at the converted mana cost of the deck, its really light on 4 drops so it would be easy to kill the 4 drop to keep me from archangel. Plus i would be way too tempted to run melira pod in that case. Chord of the calling i can see though.

The deck as it is looks to not even need black. it seems like its really wanting to be mono green ramp into primordial hydra with a splash of black for vampire nighthawk. matpan13 was right about the rotwurms and the bops. but you also need a draw engine with a deck like this. garruk, primal hunter would work ok, i think harmonize would be a little more consistent though.
