Deck Description

My old angel deck, played this when I was playing in a more casual legacy based group. Nothing really fancy here, just trying to cheat in some big angels with fun abilities. You've got three options for pulling them in by turn 4 pretty easily- Quicksilver, Elvish piper, Defense of the Heart, or just plain mana ramp. There are some cool combos like Lure+ Avycn; Wrath of God/dauntless escort; Whispersilk Cloak/Platinum Angel. Essentially, the odds of you drawing at least half of a few of the combos early on are high. Sooner or later you will draw a tutor or draw the other card you need strait up. The deck can be pretty solid if it gets rolling.

Deck discussion for Forests of Heaven

Got here because I saw you suggesting Feldon's Cane because you didn't know Elixir of Immortality ... so I said to myself "cool, an oldschool guy, let's check out his decks and help him updating a bit". I play since 1994 and love to see oldschool casual decks :)

* Whats Candelabra doing in this? I don't see any lands that produce more than one mana nor any land with a special ability that could be used twice. So, unless you add Karakas, Yavimaya Hollow, Maze of Ith and the like, Candelabra is nothing more than an expensive mana fixer that could have been something more useful. If it's to fix coloured mana, you'f probably be better off with a Harrow or Chromatic Lantern.

* Also, consider Seedborn Muse in this! Would be sooo powerful ... I'd cut the Frontline Medics for this. They have bad synergy with your Moat anyway.

* Sol Ring is restricted to 1 copy which is the reason why this deck isn't Vintage legal. Replace it with Strip Mine which is painfully missing.

* Wordly Tutor should be upgraded to Eladamri's Call.

* Those Llanowar Elves should be Birds of Paradise.

* That sideboard ... how many years have you been asleep? ;) Maybe keep the CoP:Red against anything burn but what you really need is:
- artifact/enchantment removal (Krosan Grip, Return to Dust)
- graveyard hate (Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus)
- a way to deal with planeswalkers, which is tricky in white/green. Maybe Archon of Justice (which could be maindeck from my POV) or Bramblecrush (which is artefact/enchantment removal as well) You could also use Beast Within, which is risky, but might help trigger Defense of the Heart. Otoh, running just 2 Defense might not justify the risk.

And this deck is by no way or any standard "quick". Consider removing this from the description because the average commenter here will go at lengths explaining why this would lose to XY before you have your first biggie out.

Pushkin,
Yeh candelabra was on there by mistake. I sometimes notice I will delete something on this site and it either doesn't delete or in not saving it right or something. I was trying to do an infinite mana combo that didn't work. I thought about BOP instead of llanowar but I'm running priest of Titania so I thought they would work better since they are elves. I'll try to update the description. I think that with the right opening hand it could be quick. I've got elvish piper as one option, defense of the heart, or quicksilver amulet so there are three different options for getting stuff in faster, plus just plain mana ramp from the elves or artifact. I'll try to make the description more accurate. I started in 94/95 , stopped after homelands, and just got back into it around Jan of this year. I had a small box of my old cards still but was playing against people running more modern stuff and I have had to evolve ?? Thanks for the tips! I'll try to incorporate them!

WHat happened here? Did you delete the discussion about fetchlands? And why does it say you posted this 20 minutes ago?

Yeh, sorry bout that, I was trying to correct a type- o in one of the earlier posts and I hit delete after I had copied the text and when my browser didn't respond I hit delete again and it unfortunately caught up and deleted both. I am going to try some fetches in my vamp deck ( I'm still waiting on a couple prices for this on like the dauntless escort) so I'll try to snag some next week and see how they do if I like them in my black/ blue deck

I like it. Doesn't have too much to fend off killspells or counterspells, but those combos are pretty nasty. Very nice.

Thanks! Yeh I had thought about autumns veil but I was just running out of room . If I can get avacyn out she tends to protect against the kill spells well. I have the deck pulled apart right now and am thinking of subbing Eurekas in for defense of the heart so that I can get some ofvthe synergistic stuff out simultaneously .
