Early turns are spent removing problem cards from your opponents hand and countering other spells played. Mid-game you play your combo and protect your creature. Once you get a creature to stick, the game is pretty much over. Sideboard is kind of transformational. You can turn into a straight Esper control deck by removing some of the more expensive creatures and some of the combo pieces.
