Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (12 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Peasant, Pauper, Noble, and now Aristocrat.

Here is the Challenge: Make an Aristocrat deck.

Rules:

1) Decks must contain 60 cards.
2) Decks can have up to 2 rares. Of the two rares, each one must be unique. In other words, a deck can't have two copies of the same rare.
3) Mythic rares are not allowed. Ever! Yes, that means no planeswalkers.***EDIT: Has been pointed out to me, by s0rinmark0v, that there were 5 Planeswalkers that started out Rares, and were converted over to Mythical Rares:Aristocrat Planeswalkers (Only allowed Planeswalkers in Aristocrat Format)- Ajani Goldmane- Jace Beleren- Liliana Vess- Chandra Nalaar- Garruk Wildspeaker
4) Decks can also have up to 12 uncommons. Like the rares, the number of copies you can include of any particular uncommon is restricted. In this case, no more than three copies of any one uncommon are allowed.
5) The rest of your deck is composed of commons, with the restriction that only 4 copies of up to three particular commons are allowed, with the rest of the deck's commons being limited to no more than 3 per unique common.
6) Basic lands are used as normal, with no particular limit on copies.
7) Sideboards are allowed and encouraged, and may include up to 1 rare and 3 uncommons, duplicating perfectly the rarity distribution of a typical booster pack. Additionally, none of the cards in the sideboard can be copies of the cards in the main deck.8) Sideboards are allowed to have 4 copies of up to two particular commons in the sideboard.

--------------------------------------------------------

This is an aristocrat reboot of a fun little deck with ambiguity and lullmage mentor I made a while back.

I have to say, I'm quite proud with the title and the deck. To show this, I went and upvoted my deck. I'm vain like that. You see, this deck plays with +1/+1 counters and counter spells - see what I did there?

Also, to the further credit of the title, this deck is, aptly, designed to engage in gentlemanly counterplay with your opponent, as in a good game of chess. Simic is refined like that, unlike SOME guilds that shall not be mentioned here. You know who you are.

P.S. If you don't get the point, read ambiguity again.

Deck discussion for Aristocrat: Counter Play

I grafted a +1 like.
Graft is one of those abilities that often started as a possibility for my plant/simic decks and then got weeded out.
(See what I did? Weeded? Plants?)
Well, not all puns smell like roses and this one is ripe.
I digress.

I am particularly appreciative of card draw. Bred for the Hunt and Shielding Plax work nicely for that. Nice variety from the Infiltration Lens I usually run.

Unglued and unhinged have always been poopood in my play group and as such I have almost total ignorance of those series. I have to admit I read the Ambiguity card several times and then scratched my head and chalked it up to yet another strange magic card en-counter.

Two cards I've never used: Crowned Ceratok and Llanowar Reborn. Thank you for the introduction. You used them well.

Would Fuel for the Cause be a good counterspell option? It represents both counter definitions and therefore is not counter-intuitive.

Hehehe ... fuel for the cause is awesome, but for some reason no one wants to play against my Simic hydras backed up with proliferate. In all seriousness, running Tezzeret's Gambit and Fuel for the Cause would relegate this deck to .... tournament play, really. No joke.

I appreciate your wit good sir. Happy deck building, and may the forest be with you.

And cytoplast manipulator is standing in the wings for players who prefer the far more simple soul-crushing of ... ahem .... ALL YOUR CREATURES ARE BELONG TO ME!

... wow, that was pretty dark. Time to go play a lifegain deck. :)

+1/+1 counter decks are sweet, nice build. A few spikes might do well in here, they are very good with counters. It is my birthday tomorrow and i made a deck for it, if you could check that out that would be great, Thank you! :)
