I agree - it's a prefect fit! Thank-you.

Other Orzhov Warrior decks I've seen use more creatures, but I'm happy with this build.
This deck was inspired by the newly released set, "Fate Reforged" by Magic the Gathering.
I made an attempt to change my "How to Play" description, hopefully it's more understandable now. Paradise mantle was intended for use on Gilder Bairn, so that you can access his "untap" ability. As for my lands, you can play some of them untapped because the pain lands trigger as forests, islands and plains.
Thank you for the suggestions, I will consider them. Maybe I should take out Thought Scour for Jace's Erasure :-) This deck was inspired by Ivan Flock - player on the pro tour. His was a standard deck, and he won the Magic 2015 tournament.
I support the idea of using Jeskai Ascendancy in this deck. For $3.25 it's a little costly for you NorthernWarlord. Maybe if you waited another year this price would be low enough to put in :-)I was reading the comments and I think you will still be playing creatures on turn 3 (due to tapped lands entering the battlefield), and it will give you a chance to loot for better draws. I also think it's worth waiting an extra turn to drop your hand with the prospect of gaining +2/+2 per non-creature spell.
I had a friend that put together a deck like this 17 years ago. This deck brings back memories. :-)
Control decks don't come easily to me. Looking at this one makes me think that red and black have lots of cards that control the battlefield. You have some good ideas, I like your win condition.
I forgot about the Convoke. The other problem I have is that, devouring light causes problems with my mana curve. I will use Tragic Slip in this case.
After a quick re-adjustment, you get what you see here. I like devouring light better than condemn, it's just that I am trying to keep the price down (around $50), and I like the 1-drop better than a 3-drop for my mana curve. If anything I should use path to exile here, but then again...
I will have to use Ajani's Mantra now. Thanks for the help - I really hate cheating involuntarily. So keep up the good work. People like you make me use this website enjoyable. Later... :-(
Circle of Affliction causes you to take zero damage from cards while drawing more cards. When you play circle of affliction, the color you pick is black. While the term "loss of life" is used on the card drawing cards, it also counts as damage. So you can then pay (1 colorless) mana to gain the 1-life you lost from drawing cards with (underworld connections, phyrexian arena and bloodgift demon), and plus it deals 1 damage to your opponent. And this can happen multiple times in a turn. (one for each black source causing you to draw cards).
Maybe your suggestion will make a good sideboard. I could use those cards to help me with mid-range decks. Because I think that control decks are weak against mid-range. I can also deal 10 points of damage with Sorin's Vengeance. This is my second attempt at a control deck! :-)
I don't plan on attacking. I plan on just defending all game, while using sanguine bond and Sorin Markov for damage.
Okay, it's the stupidest fit in the deck. I like Venser's -1 ability and his +2 works with Corpse Cur. Other than that, it's just a one of. I have not used it in a tournament. Just casual play.
Did I miss anything?
I don't mean to nag, but you only have 58 cards in this deck.
This is a good deck. (+1 for you). I was thinking that it might worth while to play test it because your mana looks a little low. Especially if you are trying to extort after every spell you cast and multiple times at that! :-)
Your last few decks including this one have been nice and cheap. I'm impressed Soldier333. I'm enjoying looking at your decks.
I like this deck. You are making a mono black control deck. I never thought of using these spells in such entirety.
