I love decks like this, I actually almost made one like this. Why is circle of affliction on this list though, could you explain that? Great deck. :)

Circle of Affliction causes you to take zero damage from cards while drawing more cards. When you play circle of affliction, the color you pick is black. While the term "loss of life" is used on the card drawing cards, it also counts as damage. So you can then pay (1 colorless) mana to gain the 1-life you lost from drawing cards with (underworld connections, phyrexian arena and bloodgift demon), and plus it deals 1 damage to your opponent. And this can happen multiple times in a turn. (one for each black source causing you to draw cards).
I see what you're saying but you had it backwords, damage causes life loss, but life loss is just life loss. I'm sorry this happened but I hope I helped. :)
