Deck Description

This deck is my favorite deck and my friends hate it. It's all about replaying instants from your graveyard to shutdown your opponent from doing anything.

To make the deck Standard swap out the Mana Leaks for the two Essence Scatters and two Negates and add four Cancels to the Sideboard

Please feel free to give suggestions and advice

How to Play

The whole deck is combo based and one reason I love it is because every time I play it I find a new combo.

Combo List:
Fiend Hunter + Cloudshift... flick the Fiend hunter while its ETB ability is on the stack to permanently exile one creature and then exile a second normally. 2 for 1
Then you can do this over and over again with Restoration angels and other flick spells just make sure you flick it twice. (for a more detailed description read the first comment and reply)

Fiend Hunter + Deadeye Navigator + Archaeomancer + Cloudshift... if I can get these four cards I will link the Deadeye Nav to the Fiend Hunter and do the above combo with cloudshift... Except I will exile my own Archaeomancer as the second creature so it is the one that will come back... Essentially what happens is this allows me to eventually exile any creature of my opponents permanently at anytime for 3 mana.

Archaeomancer + Restoration Angel + Fiend Hunter + Ghostly Flicker is an amazing blocking combo. Say you get attacked by 4 really high power creatures with a range of terrible abilities. Block all three with these three and ghostly flicker two to protect them. Use the Restoration Angels ETB to flick and protect the other. Now you get to remove the 4th creature with Fiend Hunter and Ghostly Flicker Comes back to you hand because of the Archaeomancer.

Flicking and Countering... The Archeomancer is the best creature in this deck and you can flick him in many ways to constantly be returning your counters and unsummons. With rewinds and the right cards you can be countering all day with out spending any mana as long as you have all you mana open.

These are only the main combos I use the most there are so many more... Let me know if you see any I didn't mention hear or if you have any suggestions... Thanks!!!

Deck discussion for Flick Off

i dont know if the fiend hunter combo would work, because when he leaves the battlefield the exiled card would come back...

Lol yeah i get in this argument so much with people... I have never had a judge rule on it but my best friend is a law student and he, begrudgingly, seems to agree that it does work. Basically this is what happens.. or how I see it anyway

You play the Fiend Hunter, it goes on the stack and you then play cloudshift and because it is an instant it resolves first. This causes the Fiend Hunter to leave the battlefield putting it's "leave the battlefield ability" on the stack and it's "Enter the battle field" ability on the stack a second time.
Because when it left the battlefield nothing was exiled yet, when the enter the battlefield ability from the first time resolves that creature will never come back because the Leave the battlefield ability has already been resloved.
The second creature leaves and comes back as normal.

I didn't want to write all that up there because it's alot to read. It's kind of a mean combo that abuses the stack rules but it should work like that. Like I said I never had a judge rule on it but after working it out I did a lot of research on it and it seems that is how it would work... If you wandt, google "cloudshift and fiend hunter". Alot of other people worked this out as well and some can explain in better then me.

Great Deck name! You could add Conjurer's Closet artifact to Flicker a creature every end step.

Thanks!!! That conjurer's closet is a great card I'll definitely try it out. I could see it doing some cool stuff in here. If nothing else it would be a free instant returned from the graveyard each turn if it was paired with an Archaeomancer.

Sundial of the Infinite would be so mean in this deck...

Awesome tip that Sundial of the Infinite is a crazy card I really like it. I'm trying to figure out a cool combo using it in my deck now... I see the combo with Sundial, Venser and the Oblivion Ring... My question is would it work the same way with Fiend Hunter and Cloudshift... Could I Cloudshift the Fiend Hunter then end the turn before they get there stuff back and if that is possible would I get my Fiend Hunter back or would it be gone??

yeah I was actually thinking how much it would suck to play against that card as I was trying to figure out a combo with the fiend hunter... I pretty much do everything with this deck on other peoples turns... that's still a really cool card though
