Deck Description

Draw as many cards as you can with blue and red buffs and fun side effects. The deck has several win cons and can also be catered to your liking. I try not to play cheese cards as this deck is a more fun and casual deck for entertainment versus competitive gameplay. HOWEVER, if you want, you can add a few cards and make it quite competitive. A couple tutors and extra turn cards would make this deck super annoying to deal with. It can still win in a turn as-is with patience, and the counterspell's and specific removal is sufficient to deal with problems. Protecting The Locust God and patience are the name of the game with this deck, but even while you're setting up, drawing cards is always fun. It's a sneaky deck that explodes without notice, and you can save your win-cons until you are ready to end the game. There are win-cons outside of the commander which is a welcomed supplement to any deck that has a commander that is targeted quite frequently.

The sideboard is essentially cards that I don't want to lose track of incase I want to add back in, or it's cards that I am considering adding. I am changing the deck to focus more on instant speed versus sorceries as I think it plays more smooth when you can interact on other peoples turns more. That way you aren't mana drained on opponents turns and can either draw or protect your investments. I am also trying to add more creatures that have built-in abilities that can replace spells so there are some blockers and combat interaction incase your opponents are playing heavy creature decks, as this commander deck is quite vulnerable to attacks when played in a typical manner.

How to Play

Essentially your opening turns are focused on ramping, setting up enchantments and drawing/cycling your hand as often as possible to get The Locust God on the battlefield. Mid game is lots of draw/cycling of your hand to both land combo pieces that fit together and create your insect army. There are several directions you can go which makes landing a fun synergistic combo fairly easy. Once you have your win-con, save a counter or two and go off in whatever manner your destiny took you.

I could list the win-cons of the deck but there are so many different avenues you can go down, it's just more fun to figure it out as you play each game, because EVERY game is a different game regardless of the basic mechanics of the deck. Either go infinite, death by needles, or swing with 1000 insects built like The Terminator.
