Deck discussion for R/B Aggro-Standard

Maindeck:
-4 Rakdos Shread-Freak
-4 Fervent Cather
-2 Slaughter Games
-1 Increasing Ambition
+4 Lightning Mauler
+4 Pyreheart wolf
+2 Brimstone Volley
+1 Hellrider

Sideboard
-2 Disentomb
+2 Slaughter Games

This is what i should do. Lightning Mauler is one of the most underrated cards in the standard format, but it is a great card in this deck ;)

But still a great deck

Thanks for the advice. i am going to board the slaughter games for the brimstone volleys. however the creatures in the deck seem to working fine the way they are so i'm going to keep them as is for now. i like the idea though. and currently i don't have an extra hellrider to put in place of increasing ambition. i think i will add in another brimstone volley in its place for now

Since I'm the one that's been getting trounced by this vile creation, I guess I should weigh in. Until you actually play against this thing, you don't really get a feel for how break neck fast it moves or how quickly you find yourself under 10 life wondering what just happened.

The creature changes rowwie1991 suggested are interesting, but with so much haste already in the deck the maulers aren't really needed, though pairing with the pyreheart wolf is a nice touch. This is just the opinion of someone who has been helping the creator playtest this unholy beast, so take it as you will.

results from last nights FNM
R1: W 2-1 vs. G/B Aggro
R2: W 2-0 vs. Monowhite Aggro
R3: L 1-2 vs. USA flash (had a hard time getting mana in both losses)
at this point I had enough points to make it to top 4
playoff round 1: W 2-1 vs. U/B/W flash
FINAL ROUND: W 2-1 vs. Naya midrange

wasn't a large tournament but I got to see how it worked against different decks. I pretty much out aggroed the aggro decks and out ran the control decks. The deck is extremely fast and very violent if I can get the ball rolling. Which is pretty easy to do with all the low costing cards and 22 mana. The set against the USA flash was a tough one because I couldn't get any mana. I don't know that things would have been different if i could have, but the one game I got the mana I needed I did very well. I made a couple misplays by dumbly naming snapcaster mage first with slaughtergames instead of sphinx's revelation. I learned my lesson there. Overall the night was a major success in my opinion. still taking any comments, suggestions, or questions.

Rakdos cacklers are fun as are stromkirk nobles if you can find some.

heres a suggestion that would make the deck even better... u should drop the rakdos returns and brimstone vollies. that clears up 6 spaces. add 1 more hellkite and 1 more hellrider. then, take out the fervent cathars, and add in 4 lightning maulers and 4 pyreheart wolves. i think the wolves provide better evasion tactics than the cathar. especially considering how much removal is in the deck. give these suggestions some thought.

Personally, I prefer spike jester to shred-freak, especially in a straight RB deck, but shred-freak is easier to get out there I suppose
