Go for an aggressive start with shadow alley denizen, and segue into nightveil specters. I cannot stress enough how useful they can be; denying your opponent good cards and mana is always a good thing. Support the desecration demons with the kill spells, and play the gray merchants for a kill or to get you into range. As an added bonus: the whip and rescue work incredibly well together. If you whip a creature into play and then sacrifice it to rescue, the creature still returns to play on your next upkeep, even though whip exiles the creature. Used with two gray merchants (or the overlord), that's three ETB effects!
