Gruul Guildgates are extended legal too aren't they? They are also cheaper and more in line with the Refuge in speed.
Auger combos deliciously with Cry of contrition though. It can also stall using the regenerate which isn't Bad. I like the Shrieking Affliction/ Quest for the Nihil Stone effect as I don't have to wait as long to start destroying the hand.

Nightmare Incursion was also a fun play...though it looks a bit on the mama heavy side for this deck.
Considered Boneyard Wurm or Ghoultree?
They should bring it back as +2/-1 or +2/-2 so it can be considered over firebreathing like effects.

Suggested embrace cause its +2/-2 for 1 mana activation instead of 1. Since the guy is 8 mana to cast I figured you'd have more than enough to enchant then drain toughness.
