This deck uses Repercussion and ways to give the opponent creatures and then kill them to do good amounts of damage. If they have lots of guys with the same color and 2 toughness, an embermage can also get in a lot of repeatable damage, and it can also do so with a war-riders in play.

What you suggest is both true and a different deck entirely.
Also, if you do that, I'd suggest Dogged Hunter.
