P.S. I completely support your use of Spark Spray. So many people think you should replace it, but they aren't seeing the amazing potential of cycling. Card advantage is the name of the game, and to even have the slightest boost of it in a RED deck is what's up. Options rule!

Infect is just great... and I love seeing it in a mono color deck!

The only thing I could suggest is 4 Mutagenic Growth instead of 4 BSZ. BSZ is awesome but it will also devastate your sweet little infectors! Just think about paying 4 life to make your Plague Stinger do 5 infect!

This is solid for standard. Well done!

Thank you man! I especially like the "Lulz" factor rating haha

This deck actually works really well in it's $140-150 range version as well, but that is still a lot of money!

Me gusta. Melira + Persist is just too damn amazing.

The only thing I would suggest is something to protect Melira (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Asceticism), so once she's out you won't have to worry about her anymore.

Pretty interesting choice running this greeny meanie with blue, I run mine with black (Viscera Seer sac engine!!). I like the green/blue uniqueness!

Check it out if you'd like; Melira supporters are always welcome!

I like this a lot! Magistrate's Scepter can keep you going forever if you have the right cards out, that's pretty awesome!

I would probably take out 2 Contagion Engines (they're pretty expensive), and replace them with Phyrexian Metamorph. He can copy any artifact or creature, which could make your combo that much easier (already have Scepter and 2 Energy Chamber/Coretapper out? How about copying one to make that 3rd that will now let you have infinite turns!)

I could see you using another Lux Cannon as well; one I don't think is enough.

Surge Nodes are really good for getting charge counters.

For land, you could use 4 Cloudposts and 4 Glimmerposts for massive amounts of mana. Since you only have 10 cards in your deck that need blue (really only 6), 11 Islands should be more than enough. I personally use the Urza's lands (in my colorless deck), but I think the Locus lands are better if you use colors.

I really like the combo you're going for here. I hope my suggestions help!

Let me know what you think about my colorless control deck, it is also a charge counter based deck so it may be of interest to you!

Thanks for the comment on my Iso deck!

It's super lame that the best mill card is so expensive, Glimpse the Unthinkable. Totally worth the investment in my opinion though lol IT'S SO COOL!

I would suggest Damnation over Life's Finale too because it's much cheaper, but that card is pretty damn expensive too.

I don't know how much you want to focus on milling here, but Mind Funerals are always good, as well as Hedron Crabs. Traumatize is good as well (maybe 2.) And Circu, Dimir Lobotomist is a great creature for blue/black.

One of the hidden jewels of milling is Grimoire Thief, give that guy a peek. He is AWESOME. The only bad thing about him is that he requires two blue mana, but man. Good stuff.

I would probably take out 1 Haunting Echoes to even the mana curve a little bit, since you're probably only going to need to play 1 to totally wreck someone's deck.

Demonic Tutors are great, but expensive. Watery Grave and Polluted Delta are also crucial lands for blue/black, but yet again expensive. Underground Rivers are less expensive, but they also hurt you every time you tap it. It could be worth it though.

I would replace Piranha Marsh and Bojuka Bog with Terramorphic Expanses or Evolving Wilds, if you can't afford Polluted Delta. Piranha Marsh isn't very helpful, and Bojuka Bog is taking away from the Haunting Echoes strategy you want here.

Perhaps you would consider some Ponders/Brainstorms to help you get what you need, and they would do great milling with Jace's Erasure out.

I hope this helps! I like the vibe you have going for this deck, I could just see you throwing in some card draw/more creatures! Take a look at my blue/black mill deck, it has a lot of the cards I mentioned. It's way different than yours but maybe you'll see something that you like!

This looks like a fun LD deck. I agree with biermann1 about Seal of Fire; I would personally use them over Shock because you don't lose the instant speed (like you would with Forked Bolt, damn sorcery!) since it's an activated ability, and because once it's out you never have to worry about it again, generally freeing up one mana. It is a very slight advantage, but every little thing counts, right?

Also, I don't know if you have, but consider Blood Moons. They are a tiny bit pricey (not too bad), but they would be beautiful in an LD deck. I would say that they should be a definite for the sideboard, against multi-colored decks. Blood Moon says "Awww, your fetch doesn't fetch anymore? So sorry, buddy!" This makes keeping your opponent's lands under control an absolute breeze, as well as just dicking them over real hard in general. Just make sure you pop off your Strip Mine if you have it out (unless you want more red mana) before throwing down the gauntlet that is Blood Moon (-howls-)

All in all, nice deck. Super cheap, too!

Haha But! But but but! Spirits are fucking cool.

I bet it does get fun with Door of Destinies out. Glitterfang just looks baller as hell too.

Nice deck! Spirit tribal ftw

Thanks for the suggestions Carda. Believe you me, I sat there looking through all the cards I could imprint on Iso on the gatherer for a LOOOONG time lol. I think I've struck a good balance with the versatility of being able to play those cards when needed and sticking them on an Iso (or Metamorph copying Iso, which I don't see anyone doing in Iso-Control decks).

Angel's Grace was in my top tier of possibilities, but I don't see myself ever getting that close to death with this deck. Also, it wouldn't help against infect at all and a lot of my friends play speedy aggro-infect. Overall it just doesn't fit in here, although split-second is extremely sexy.

I figured Tezzy the Seeker was a stupid win-con to have in here, because I don't want to turn my Iso's into beaters and have them tapped. His first 2 abilities are cool but hardly necessary... one Luminarch Ascension will turn into a beater-factory in just 4 turns (because I'm definitely not going to be damaged by anything, lol) and I can search for it with Enlightened Tutors. That's why there's only one. If I had two I could possibly get it out more quickly, but I don't mind making my opponent suffer for a million turns...or just quit, because that's what usually happens.

Phew, sorry for the book haha. And thanks again for the ideas, I may take another look at some dual cards...

While a spell with Split Second is on the stack, no player can play spells or activate abilities unless they're mana abilities. Pretty awesome!

There are some even nastier cards that pair with Isochron though...

Someone said Orim's Chant already, but Silence is similar enough for budget. I would run 4 Silences, for sure. Imprint it on Iso and play Silence during your opponent's upkeep every turn, YAY!

Remand, Boomerang, Brainstorm, Enlightened Tutor....

Check out my Isochron Control deck for some ideas! I'm sure you'll like it.

Having 1 Iso with Word and 1 with Remand out would would be blissful. The only dick thing about Word of Command is that it could sometimes possibly not really do much for you...oh, and even adding just 3 would add $150 to this deck's already mammoth cost lol

I like the infinite life gain you got going on, and of course Iso-Silence is ridiculous. I must be missing something though, I can't figure out what the turn 3 win is (I'm sure it's staring me right in the face.) I'm assuming it's using the Heavy Arbalest, but what is it?

It isn't modern, but seeing as you like Isochron and all, check out my Iso-Control deck! Pretty fun stuff.

Haha it's all good... I certainly wasn't trying to be arrogant. I'm pretty sure I wasn't boasting about anything/insulting dude-man, either... I honestly do feel that certain decks basically "need" certain cards to work at maximum efficiency. I would explain per example but that would take forever! And I am also pretty confident in the general rule of having at least 20 lands in ALMOST every deck...of course there are exceptions but I really don't feel like this is the one.

Do you really think my vamp deck is bad? The one it's based off of has done pretty damn well in my group of friends (especially in multi), and it's pretty scattered...I definitely tightened it up. You don't necessarily HAVE to have a combo in a deck for it to be successful, but mine does have an instant kill combo in it...and the strategy is that you drop a bunch of vampires, then ramp up your vampires (they stack very well...), all while using removal on your opponent's creatures and hitting them, and for the grand finale (if your opponent isn't already dead at this point), instantly kill them with the Sanguine Bond + Blood Tribute COMBO!!! It's pretty efficient, honestly.

I didn't mean to come off as a dick. I know my deck I cited is very different (it's not based around Captivating Vampires for their activated ability, instead mostly their buffing) than Alzorius', but I really do think that this deck could be cleaned up a lot in my honest opinion. If that came out in a condescending tone, I apologize. But my suggestions still very much stand!

Take out Nicol Bolas, as when he comes back to play from your graveyard he has summoning sickness, and you wouldn't be able to pay his upkeep on your next turn so he wouldn't be able to do anything for you.

haha thanks man! My friend runs 4 Sanguine Bonds and 4 Blood Tributes in his deck IRL, because he really wants opportunities for instant kills (we generally play multiplayer for the most part), but I've always thought that 4ofs on both of those was a bit too many, especially when you're running Tutors. He's definitely gotten a little clogged up with them, but I've also seen him kill our buddy on turn 5 and then next turn drop me in one fell swoop. Tributes are especially expensive though, maybe I will tamper with only including 2 and see how it plays out! Thanks for the input!
