Mono blue mill....I admire your tenacity.

As for suggestions: maybe a touch more cycling. Preordain for something similar to serum visions. Gitaxian probe for a possible free card draw and seeing your opponents hand. Or thought scour for a draw 1 mill 2.

If you speed it up you're gonna need more mana too, I'd suggest adding a couple more permanents(jace, fog bank, wall of frost, etc) and nykthos(really a great land in the mana production area). Or you could try running it off of the *counts devotion* 16 that you already have and replace a couple islands with nykthos

All in all its a pretty decent deck. I applaud you for stepping away from stereotypes and cutting your own road... I think I still have one or two mill decks on my file, although I think they are blue/black. But I encourage you to look at them and see if anything stands out to modify this deck.

Ahhh ok. I never knew what to refer to those as. I just called them "theme" decks. And I looked at it. I couldn't think of anything in modern within a decent price range to help with the deck

I must've overlooked crystalline sliver while searching for them I'd definitely side it. But as for ground shaker I have horned sliver to give them trample.... as for coat of arms... I may have door of destinies sided out in case the opponent has alot of creatures of the same types

I utilize orochi hatchery for creatures. But I do like the idea of shield sphere as a blocker so I took out my 2 vesuva and added 2 shield sphere

Is there any other ideas you have?

true... but look at it like this. after the first counter is placed on Joraga she can place a counter on herself per turn. so thats like a free counter every turn. say you had enough to put one on her first turn shes out. Turn 1: Joraga, put a counter (Counter count[cc]:1) Turn 2: put a counter from whatever source you used last turn, put one from her (cc:3) Turn 3: two counters like last turn and done

Thats not including the ramping that this deck does.

Also. Chances are you will be focused on other ways to produce mana so you wont need her. But its still nice to have the threat. Overwhelm your opponent with your options so they dont know what to hit first and then bam... they're dead.

It's up to the owner but I think a Joraga Treespeaker would be a nice addition to the deck. I even know where id put it. Id drop 2 warcallers and put in 2 treespeakers

no problem. I don't know where you'd put it, though. every card in here has a purpose

im gonna redact my previous statement. dont do Breaking//Entering. But I do think you should think about Mind Grind. You are playing mind funeral which does the same thing. but it only does 4 lands whereas Mind Grind does X. ive just recently done a couple of mill decks. yes they are sans mind grind but I think they should serve as a basis for comparison

I'm a huge fan of mono black and I gotta say. This deck does impress. and for not a bad price either. I'd say maybe throw 1 abhorrent overlord in for late game token production and card draw off the tokens. If all works out they have lifegain and you wouldn't lose any net health.

drop hollowborn, maga, and the necropolis regent. you need more low cost cards to bide your time. death cultist and black knight are great. one to burn them while using them to block and another to just straight up block with protection from white. my suggestion would be to throw in duty bound dead and/or tormented soul. 1 pokes the players to death while the other boosts one attacker. they both are 1 drops with almost no side effect. if you have any open slots for cards you could just throw in some filler or counteraction. murder, temporal extortation, stuff to slow your opponent down.

On a side note- alot of your mana production is going to come from crypt ghast. and this deck is about devotion. try getting your hands on a couple Nykthos, shrine to nyx. if you dont wanna do that, you could always get cabal coffers. yeah they are a bit more costly but they will help exponentially. i have a few combinations for mana production if you're interested in that.

my suggestion would be to maybe think about getting a doubling season or 4. great in an token/mass counter set up but still functional here. you could probably end up with 256 times the normal amount of counters.... meaning 1 counter=256

you could splash white and throw in vizkopa guildmage? say... a combination of godless shrine, temple of silence and/or unknown shores to cover the mana cost?
