Deck discussion for Death and Taxes - GP Paris

Ok seriously almost every aggro deck i see in modern and legacy uses aether vial (every top tier). This is insane. This universal lynchpin has to be exploitable, like maybe hex parasite or something.

the problem is most good hate for it hits your own vial. Also very few legacy decks actually run vial. Goblins merfolk and this deck pretty much cover it.

for the deck itself i don't think spirit of the labyrinth is up to the hype, it does very little against storm (they still resolve the first cantrip and probably go off turn 2-3 anyway) sneak and show is already super super super favorable. (on a side note 4th karakas is really good)

so with 3 free slots you could add magnara or mirran crusader, which are both huge bombs they enable you to win some match-up easily.

Hey, trollking, i think you're correct about vials. The main vial deck that is a problem is the mirror, hopefully that wont end so badly ;)
I plan on running at least two spirits because the effect is so good against brainstorm decks and grislebrand decks. It also should slow/stop and glimpse of nature shenanigans. I do like mirran crusader alot, but I just cant find the space for him.
I saw some lists cutting down on flickerwisps to fit spirit and mirran but I really like flickerwisp.

Thanks for your feedback will definitely take a look into your suggestions when were playtesting

I also just made the jump from Rug delver to DNT recently :) its such a fun deck, i just feel I can pilot Aether vial decks better than I can play brainstorm

flickerwisp is one of the most powerful cards in the deck, the more you play the more synergy with the deck it displays. It's not actually amazing against brainstorm deck surprisingly as they can cast and crack fetch in response, or in the case of most these deck have removal for it. It also dies to all the hate that people already board in against you.
it is still good against griselbrand decks, but not exactly amazing. Breaking down by deck
reanimator- its very easy for them to just pick another target and reanimate something else
tin-fins- awesome if you land it
sneak and show- not incredibly amazing here as they can both counter it or ignore with emrakul, also your match up here is already straight amazing so additional help isnt really necessary.

mirran helps against BUG (delver and shardless variants) its okay against jund but not good. Against Junk it dodges decay but not swords. And they have to have swords or you just beat them. it also helps against all goyf's that i'm not thinking of.

this is not comprehensive or even really close but it is a decent start if you are unfamiliar with the format.
a comprehensive legacy resource is
