Deck Description

It's too bad you can't enjoy the Just for Fun section in Casual play MTGO because people play expensive net decks and push players around with their hit and run ambush play. Here's a deck, I don't recommend playing at all, especially in just for fun because like many of the people you run into on MTGO it doesn't play nicely.

The pseudo-anonymity of the playing means some players just play expensive net-decks and ambush people in casual play. That's unfortunate.

This deck pushes the so called 4 card limit well beyond the breaking point by creating a deck which is designed to remove any creature your opponent plays. In fact, many good removal options, like Killing Glare, were overlooked.

I originally made this deck with the Phylactery Lich's in the mainboard, but have subsequently opted to focus on just removal. The deck does very little damage on its own, so it might be better to mainboard a stab wound, but honestly, you should draw enough removal to get you to to the Grave Betrayals.

This deck is not a fun deck to play. The match can go very long.

This deck employs an ugly strategy. Unfortunately, as many players employ TQ style decks in JFF, this deck was developed to respond to those players.

The first two rounds were played in the appropriate area, TQ. The second two rounds were played in JFF- an inappropriate deck setting. You won't really be able to tell as both players appear to be running variants of GW humans. Both demonstrate the deck can, depending on the draw, win. Both demonstrate the deck can also lose.

You can watch the rounds here:

I've also added the new Merciless Eviction. It may be too high to justify, but the sideboard again offers alternatives. I'm relying only on the 4 guildgates to draw into it, which may seem a bit tough to draw into. However, I want to keep the deck cheap. I may add some Thespian's Stage.

Personally, I would much rather play a fun deck like my rat deck, Rodentia, than this deck and I feel this deck should only have targeted rather than general uses. I'd much rather have fun playing in MTGO, but a lot of the players you run into, don't want to have fun.

How to Play

Just keep killing.

Whatever I steal. I used to have Bump in the Night and considered splashing with some Rakdos Guildgates, but then I decided to focus more on removal with the assumption that if the game went very long I could just keep using Elixir's to get Shadow Slice back. Since I have a Tormod's Crypt mainboarded, the Elixir vs. Elixir scenario should still break out in favor of this deck.
