Giant fireball. Suggestions pl..

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Build up mana in order to kill the opponent in one fell swoop. I believe its standard too. use omnath to keep mana in your mana pool and then destroy the opponent. Please help me make it better!
After all the comments you have posted I decided to make a new deck based on omnath http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=163525

Yeah with the ramp, Comet Storm could be a game winner for sure. Sweet man, I love the deck!

Nice Idea with the Joraga, isn't there something that adds mana for each forest like Cabal Coffers does for swamps?

Is this standard? If not, you could add a mana flare for insane mana ramp. Banefire is also a great alternative to fireball.

its standard alright, or i would have put that card in there

How about Harrow - gets you 2 lands for sac 1, but it's an instant
I'd remove commet storm (fireball and RSZ will be enough) it costs an extra mana to cast and add more cultivates, you need as much land out as possible as soon as possible

It's not a great card but pyretic ritual gives 3 mana for 2 so that's an increase as well.
Also Palladium Myr gives 2 mana

Finally more lands possibly

I had paladium myr at first, but everflowing chalice is more reliable cuz it can't be lightning bolted

Yes, Comet Storm costs one extra mana, but it's an instant. If someone were to doom blade Omnath their turn, your mana would be emptied at the end of the turn. But if you have Comet Storm, you could use all your stored mana in a last-ditch effort for damage. If you had a fireball, which is a sorcery, all that mana would go to waste.

if you're not going for standard you could add the urza's land set

Cut 2 Birds for 2 Elvish Archdruid, and fit a few more elves. Elvish Archdruid can tap for a lot with enough elves.

The elvish archdruid is a good idea, i dont know why i didnt think of it. Thanks

since omnath can only store up green mana i would reccomend replacing the chalice with explores or khalni gems

0

I didnt realized that it only stored green mana. I took out all the everflowing chalaces

0
Posted 20 March 2011 at 21:05

yea, it doesnt look like omnath will be storing very much mana in this deck

0

what do you mean, I have plenty of creatures creating red mana

0
Posted 20 March 2011 at 22:43

The awesome thing is that Fire servant damage stacks, so if you had two out, you could kill someone with 6 mana. If you only had one out, you still would only need 11 mana (which would be pretty easy to get. I think you need something to keep you alive, because this deck is very late-game.

Drop two more Birds for two more Archdruids (or one Birds and one Joraga Treespeaker).

I could see this deck benefiting massively from Green Sun's Zenith. Tutor for Omnath, Archruid, etc.

Also Quest for Renewal would be a nice addition with Omnath on the board.

In the end though, I think a mono green deck with more elves, Ezuri, and Overwhelming Stampedes would be more effective. Best ways to ramp mana for Fireball (etc) are in classic. Having said that, though, I think you could make a sweet little hybrid burn / fast mana stomp deck by running Overwhelming Stampede (drop either Fireball or Red Sun for a set). You have a potentially huge Omnath, drop an Overwhelming Stampede on him and watch your creatures overrun for massive damage. You also have a pair of Reverberates in your arsenal, usable to double damage from Fireball (etc) or to drop double Stampedes.

The biggest drawback is the reliance upon Omnath to be game-winning, though. I'm seeing the potential for a casually competitive deck, but it'd require a major overhaul.

I've built a very similar deck that goes for the kill in one hit. I'm using lots of cheap myr creatures (iron myr, silver myr, palladium myr) to generate mana fast, then having 4 fire servant's in the deck. Use fireball and/or red sun zenith as they both do the same thing. I've also got 4 galvanize since the myr creatures allow the metalcraft to boost it with fire servant to a 8 damage 1 drop spell

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 08:45

Why not 2 myr galvanizers and a palladium myr for infinite mana?

Also I need comments and criticism on my Uw Architect deck, thanks

I dont like the idea of relying on a fragile infinite combo

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 11:32

I've done that in a deck thinking it'd be fun for casual, because it certainly isn't competitive... but it's not really that fun.. All it ends up doing is frustrating opponents when they see a 3-step "You win" combo hit the board, where the good games come from working up your battlefield advantage and fighting for the win.

Easy fast way to infinite green or red mana

Maze of Ith + Argothian Elder + 1 Taiga

or different way with for infinite any color mana

Wirewood Lodge + Argothian Elder + 1 land with Fertile Ground on it

so see these concepts in action please see my Infinite Capsize Deck

I've been tinkering around with the very same idea. Here's my current build if you'd like to take a look. I can't believe I didn't think of comet storm till I came here. What an amazing card.

I have heard from some people that allies typically work very well for infinite fireball decks. What you do is have harabaz druid and crab umbra to get infinite mana.

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 14:23

Comet storm and lightning bolt should take care of the creatures. Fireball is a little awkward with it having to be even. Banefire will help against white (damage prevention) and blue (countering). Make your "one fell swoop" not fall on it's face.

So I'd say:
-4 Fireball
+4 Banefire

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 15:38

I like banefire a lot, but it isn't standard or else i would use it in a second

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 18:26

It's not a Standard card but Keeper of Progenitus would work well in that deck.

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 15:50

I think you should have more forests than mountains because you only need 2 red mana for each spell you have (which won't be used that often) and Omnath only stores green mana.

0
Posted 21 March 2011 at 21:58

but if i dont have that 2 red mana i'm in trouble

0
Posted 22 March 2011 at 06:52

Yeah, but with 9 Mountains, you'll still have 2 red mana. If you're playing a game and you only draw 2 forests...umm...you could play Birds of Paradise, Elvish Archdruid, Joraga Treespeaker, Llanowar Elves, and Omnath for plenty of green mana storage...I didn't realize how dumb that arguement sounded until I already started typing. You should at least make it 10 of each.

Holy cow, the balance in this deck is incredible! I just did a draw sample hand, and within 4 turns, I would Have Omnath, Joraga, Red Sun's Zenith, Archdruid, Lightning Bolt, Cultivate, and the perfect balance of lands!

0
Posted 22 March 2011 at 09:50

I think you should +1 Reverberate and -1 Llanowar Elves (Or Birds of Paradise because of Archdruid)
With Reverberate, you only need to use half the mana, and if someone counters it, you can just make another copy that will go through. You also already have enough mana producing creatures too. I also think you should add an extra Elvish Archdruid and a Fire Servant because they are amazing cards for this deck

0
Posted 22 March 2011 at 09:57

Sideboard Update: You should add in 2 Reverberates, some Mana Flares, an Elvish Archdruid, a Cultivate, a GSZ, and a Birds of Paradise into your sideboard.

Maybe add copperhorn scout, tap all your creatures for mana then attack with copperhorn to untap them and the reuse them for mana again to pump your mana pool with Omnath. If you don't mind take a look at my deck i have been working on and tell me what you think please?

0
Posted 22 March 2011 at 21:05

That's a pretty good Idea, but if Copperhorn is blocked, it will be destroyed, so it's only a one time deal. I bet there's other green or red spells for untapping creatures, though. By the way, which deck are you asking to be looked at?

Here's the perfect solution to Doom Blade and burn: Asceticism.
Your creatures can't be targeted, and you can save tham from a board wipe with regenerate. You'll have plenty of mana to cast it, so it's perfect.

Hmm...My suggestion isn't standard, but Kaervek's torch would go great with Omnath, Uses x + 1 red mana to deal x damage to target creature or player. Use Omnath's multitude of mana to simply destroy.
