Deck Description

Jin-Gitaxias at the core of an artifact deck. Draw a bunch of artifact creatures and play them all on your opponents turn for minimal mana courtesy of Shimmer Myr and Semblance Anvil. I'm generally a "4x" insert-card-name-here person, but have really struggled with what to nix to make that happen with this deck. Originally I designed it without the Mana Leaks, but it felt awfully fragile without their protection.

A Psychosis Crawler or 2/3/4/5 ("cloned" by Phyrexian Metamorph or Phantasmal Image) makes the draw 8 from Jin-Gitaxias lethal in and of itself.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Deck discussion for Jin-Gitaxias and Friends

i would possibly try running vensirs journals, so you could start gaining life from all of the cards that you have in your hand

Definitely an option. Not sure what to pull in favor of it. Any ideas there?

I like the mana ramp as an option if you don't have the amulet, but instead of automaton run jace's archivist. He has better synergy with what you are doing. Also, I would try to make room for consecrated sphinx, possibly cut the shimmer myr, I have always found it to be underwhelming when I played it. Oh and reverse the counts for Silver and Palladium myrs

The reasoning behind the Shimmer Myr is so that I can toss out surprise blockers/next turn attackers. I might try it without, just to see. As for the Automaton, it's synergy is really with the Shimmer Myr. Being able to quick drop one (or more) and boost all of my defending creatures was the idea behind it. Originally, I was running Etched Champion as well. It hurt to cut it. All color protection is a handy trick. Jace's Archivist has definite potential. I might need to increase the focus on the Psychosis Crawler (and add one more).
