I recently updated my Megrim Deck. Need a little help, seems to either work incredible or horrible. Need it to be more consistent. This isn't for tournament play, This is to play against friends. Megrim and Caress with Burning Inquiry, Blightning, Inquisition, are the damage by discarding combo's. Royal Assassin is to stop me from getting crushed by creatures. Painful Quandary is to make them hesitate about casting something. I want to take out the Hellfire Mongrels and Diabolic tutors (maybe). Not sure what to replace them with. Maybe take out 2 lands as well for something else. Any help is really appreciated, Again this is just for playing against friends, we don't have pro tournament decks, so nothing to expensive! Thanks

I have a similar deck, but I don't play standard and I splashed blue, so I have access to some other cards. If you wanna check it out, here's the link. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=86153 I don't think the Assassin is necessary, since you have Lightning Bolts and Terminates. In place of the Assassin, maybe put in some cheap chump blockers, or more cheap burn. I'd stick to 2 Painful Quandary only, it's kinda heavy on the mana. And by that time, the opponent shouldn't be at much life. Usually when I play w/ my Megrim deck, it's mostly one turn kill, so Painful Quandary might be a bit slow for this deck. I'd actually put in 2 MORE lands so that you don't run into the problem of having no lands.

You're on to a good start, man. For additional discard in the form of a creature try slavering nulls, it's a common from the new scars set. Psychic Miasma is also a common from the new scars set and it is a two casting cost discard spell with possible repetitive use. Guul Draz Spectre, Quest for the Nihil Stone, and Bloodchief Ascension are all awesome in this deck, but alas, they are all rares. If you have the time, check out my deck called Reign of Sauron...if he's a she. It's a tournament version (standard legal) of the deck you're working with.
