Thanks for the tip; somehow I had forgotten about beast within. As for the despise, I always found it best in the sideboard, but that is just my experience. One card you could consider for legacy play is diabolic edict; it is an instant speed two drop that makes them sac a creature with no drawback.
The Geth's verdict are in for the boggles match-up as well as the additional damage. Despise is good against zoo, boggles, and any aggressive strategy that relies on fast creatures and planeswalkers. Combo can be pretty tough, however most combo decks ultimately rely on creatures, like splinter twin, so the removal can keep them from winning long enough until you corrupt them in the face for lethal. This deck originally was mono-black, but the only way for it to be competitive in the meta-game was to splash green for answers to non-creature permanents; any advice on the splash would be appreciated.
