Deck Description

I thought this would be a cool deck idea, its all about avoiding damage. Any feedback would be great, i know the deck isnt great, but id like to improve on it. Thanks

I'm assuming you mean cheaper money wise. If you want to go with stuff like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, then going more white would be better. Here's a list of cards that I'd consider when making a deck based on preventing my opponent from attacking me:
Ghostly Prison
Propaganda
Orim's Chant (imprinted on Isochron Scepter - you can still kick it :p )
Magus of the Moat (I'd prefer Moat, but it's too expensive money wise)
Windborn Muse
Chronomantic Escape

Proparganda and Ghostly Prison do exactly the same thing, just check the erata on the rulings on gatherer ( www.gatherer.wizards.com )

I'd maybe go for Mana Short instead of Early Frost, if you don't mind the extra (1), more applications ;]

by the way im not sure, but if you ice cage one of the glittering cats with a pariah on it does that make it invincible? until the ice cage is removed that is..

if anyone can find an answer for this that would be awesome..

Basically yes. All damage dealt to it is still prevented, and players cannot pay the cost to make it lose that ability.

Nice deck, I have a similar U/W, I believe that ability is an activated ability, so yeah it would (http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Activated_ability) . Though for the price of paying those 3 cards(2, 1W) (1, 1U) (1W) for a total CMC of 6,you may want to consider the use of a card such as Stuffy Doll. Just because its 5 colorless, and you could pull it with a card like Tinker, and if you put pariah on it its though it would be 8 CMC your looking at more options with Stuffy Doll especially because it would be easy to get rid of Ice Cage, though you lose the option to use Ice Cage on your opponents. Plus Stuffy Doll gives you a win condition, they can't hit you in any way, and if they do, they take damage. Now I am rambling, just something to think about though.

My bad, a friend pointed out, a win condition other than Purity.

yeah no prob, i think i want to build a deck around that card now too, so you may see that one coming soon =P

This card is a little more expensive then the lions you have but it doesn't have that pay three ability for all players. Cho-Manno, Revolutionary. Check it out. :D

the pay three is a little bit of a trick, if they dont pay i wont take damage if they do decide to pay they may hurt themselves with their venomed lands

Some possible creatures you might consider are indestructible creatures (darksteel myr instead of glittering lion, the myr has the plus side of being indestructaible without the drawbacks the lion has, though it does have no power). White also has some great enchantments such as ghostly prison (mentioned above), lightmine field, porphyry nodes, leylines of sanctity, and more too add. Nice deck though!

its not just avoiding damage the cost is going to eventually require the opponent to tap a venomed land to deal damage to them, and even then their attack may never hit me

You need a win condition. Frost Titan?

Oh, Purity.

Relly like this, I would swap ice cage for journey to nowhere though
I've got a monowhite that's complete lock down with orims chant and isochron scepter and a bunch of other spells you can also put on it like dawn charm and silence and swords to plowshares
Also look into true believer to to get yourself shroud for 2 mana, umm maze of it? Meekstone winter orb balance
Then I just have 1 felons cane and 1 luminarch ascension

thats all good stuff but its pulling away from my original idea to do a deck thats around a lot already

Oblivion ring rather than ice cage.

What about Cho-Mano Revolutionary? Thats basically the glitterings without the lose ability!!!

PATH TO EXILE!!!!!!

To finish it off: Wall of Omens + Venser the Sojourner

the night angel is right about cho-mano revolutuinary..... except when paired with pariah its makes you virtually invincible :)

yeah hes right that he doesnt have the pay to remove but thats what i want, i want them to pay with their venomed lands and take damage.

my favorite card in a defensive deck has always been worship. Try that and a few creatures who have protection from creatures or colors, a few mother of runes works great too.

Pariahs shield with darksteel myr. Untouchable.

Hedron-Field Purists is a creature I find most annoying when played against me, due to his passive ability to prevent up to 2 damage from all sources to both you and your creatures. Comes in handy more than you'd think :/

I've been a fan of a certain set of cards that can actually get through decks like this. I assume that you're friends don't play with them, but I'll throw the idea out there so you can consider it.

Eldrazi have the ability to bash through defense like this, sometimes before you can get your defenses in place. Emrakul in particular can be problematic.

On the same note though, Ensnaring Bridge is particularly good at keeping enemies from attacking, which pretty much gives you infinite time to set up everything else, and/or swing with your Purity.

4 pendrell mists would be funny in this deck, i use them in my creatureless deck

I used to have a deck similar to this one, only in a life-gain style. I used Cho-Manno revolutionary though instead of the "Glittering" creatures; this way your opponentcannot take the ability away :D I realllllly like this deck though, i would hate to go up against it. Good job. Maybe you could help with a deck I've been working out?
