Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Creatures (3)

Instants (6)

Enchantments (6)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

How to Play

Ramp yourself until you can put out xenagos
Ramp options:
-Birds of Paradise
-Trace of abuncande
-Bloom Tender

from that turn on your turns will look like this:
1.put out a 5/- (like Spellbreaker Behemoth)
2. Rancor it
3. use the ability of Xenagos to get it +X+X (in that case: +7+7) and haste
trample the f*** out of your enemy
4. repeat

Your turns will be so much more dangerous as far as malael's atem lays out and you got your 5/-

Finishers:
-Rancor (may with combo Xenagos)
-Godsire
-(pretty rare but possible) Mayael's Atem
-Meglonoth
-Rush of blood in combo with Atem or /and Xenagos!
-Kalonian Hydra (in combo with Atem)

Sideboard:
-Naya Charm (Token / weenie aggro + burn/ kill + reanimator + threat removal)
-Rest in Peace (Graveyardplay)
-Mycoid Shepherd (Burn / Kill decks)
-Selesnya Charm (gaves additional Trample +2+2 + threat removal)

Deck discussion for [Mod] Mayael' True Power

What about scute mob?

i dont think so
this card takes 5 lands to be dangerous the most of this cards are rly aggresive with 3 lands or you have units which you can tap for mana

Agreed, Scute Mob seems like a cool card but it's really not good unless you have stuff like cultivates or other cards that put more lands into play before turn 5.

Mycoid Shepherd is pretty cool but a case for the sideboard in case somebody rushes/ threat removal etc

How about Naya Charm, Gloryscale Viashino, Radiant Kavu, Retaliator Griffin, and my favorite Titanic Ultimatum.

0

Naya Charm is not that strong i think (you can proof me wrong)
Gloryscale is 3/3 usual so i dont prefer him
Radiant Kavu = Vintage
Retaliator Griffin is too low on damage (i think) as well
Titanic ultimatum is reeeeealy expensive and i get trample from rancor much cheaper, firststrike from rakeclaw BUT the lifelink is a pretty good idea i might do spirit loop in the deck

Naya Charm not that strong? Are you kidding? The ability to tap all creatures target player controls is awesome!
Gloryscale Viashino gives you the chance to give one of your creatures +3/+3 until end of turn just for casting a multicolored spell, which you have plenty of.
Retaliator Griffin can get pretty big if you allow just a little bit of damage to get through. Whenever a source an opponent controls deals damage to you, you may put that many +1/+1 counters on Retaliator Griffin. So even it you only take 2 or 3 damage your griffin is now 4/4 or 5/5. And if you use Naya Charm as well on your turn, your opponent will regret you having that griffin in your deck.
And yes, Titanic Ultimatum is expensive to cast, but you do have Knotvine Mystics in your deck to help with that. You could always SB one.

Yeah the charm could save your ass sometimes but usually you run in with haste / trample / +x+x (maybe firststirke/lifelink) so you dont care much if your enemy got a wall of creatures> you have the stronger one + trample. but i add it in the sideboard (replacing wrath of god) against weenie aggro
Im still not sure about that gloryscale i mean it could be great but still killed with 1 lighting bolt for 1 mana
The griffen is nice is your enemy plays burn but well... if he plays burn he will kill that first^^ no question about that.
if i tap the knotvine mystic then the ultimatum wouldnt be that much usefull > 1 creature less to get big

See you point. Ah well, just some suggestions. Nice job tho. Def gave it a Like. (=

Looks solid. I was going to suggest Unflinching Courage instead of Spirit Loop and Rancor, freeing up 4 card slots... but your way is the same mana cost for modular trample and/or lifelink that never goes away. Bravo. I only wish the deck were cheaper, dollar-wise. =/

0
Posted 20 March 2014 at 05:17

Unflinching Courage is not that matching because you often work on 5 mana with the god out: check the h2p
also both spirit loop and rancor are comming back to your hand in case somebody uses threat removals
i prefere spirit loop anyway because you can enchant it 2x on 1 creature and will get 2x life

btw with replacing the lands this deck would be very much cheaper ;)

if you wanted mayael's aria as more of a wincon, maybe you could toss in rush of blood/fatal frenzy to cast during your upkeep before you resolve the aria. just a thought, but i figured there had to be something that would double power temporarily!

0
Posted 20 March 2014 at 11:08

good idea the rush of blood is realy strong even if you dont use it as the win con you will get 10 life out of it!

0

that actually is just a similar but much weaker version of xenagos...

0

why run the jungle shrines, you could run better, if it is a price thing i understand but should consider at least Rugged Prairie, Wooded Bastion, Fire-lit Thicket or the buddy lands like sunpetal, rootbound crag, or clifftop they're cheaper than fetchlands

0

jungle shrine + reflecting pool = your whole manabase
i could add some fetch lands but they are $200 each

na man the atem just gives you a lot of power: think about each upkeep 1 x1+1+ on each creature you controll. with more than 1 of those even your birds of paradiese can get dangerous

spearbreaker behemoth takes care of most boardwipes and spot destruction

0

yeah but freaking expensive^^
more than 1 would be lethal for the deck's speed and if you play with 1 in the deck you would need some tutor...

Why not Kalonian Hydra? (=

0

cause its 0/0 and with that not protected from the spellbreaker
but the rest would be okay but still not 100% matching

This is a solid and very straight forward deck. A bit too straight forward for my taste. It lacks tricks, it lacks removal. Does this deck even work? I mean, do you ever win via Myaeal' Aria? It looks as if whenever Aria is doing something, you will most likely win anyway with all those massive creatures out.

I think Rush of Blood should have 4 copies and/or other pumpers should be in there - Berserk for example unless you want to keep this modern.

Chameleon Colossus and Feral Animist might be worthy additions (or replace some of the weaker or vanilla creatures you have there). And of course Kalonian Hydra, if you can afford them. These creatures will get big enough fast enough to win via Aria.

Not all of your creatures have to have power 5, though. What about creatures that make use of getting those +1/+1 counters? Shinewend for example would add enchantment removal, Fertilid would help your mana production, Spike Weaver negates attacking creatures and so on. Those also work with the Hydra.

The aria is not the real win option thats right but this stands in the h2p.

rush of blood isnt that good of use if you act fast its a realy hard finisher but thats all. think about this:
(your) turn 6 Xenagos out; Mayaeal's Atem out; 6 lands (i dont care about the color so lets say 4x shrine and 2x reflecting)
>>>>>> Usualy you work faster because of the ramp <<<<<<<

1.put out a 5/- (like Spellbreaker Behemoth) (4 mana)
2. Rancor it (1 mana)
3. use the ability of Xenagos to get it +X+X (in that case: +7+7) and haste

there is no mana room for Blood rush in this turn but in the next turns upkeep:
1. you play it as a react on your spellbreaker (+7+0) earn 10 life and +1+1 (its 15/8 now)
2.Xenagos +15+15
3....
4. Profit

Chameleon Colossus is just the same problem not usualy 5 power also his activated ability is soooo expensive and not manaclear i mean you can activate it max 1/turn.
Feral Animist just have the problem with his low startpower and life i think 1 lightning bolt and he is a goner

and the +1+1 counter users ... well this sounds like a whole new deck i mean will there the atem even trigger? you can construct your idea maybe its good

Well, the deck's name suggests the deck bases on Mayael. As I said, you will probably win (or lose) before Mayael can do it's thing, that's why it is hard to suggest anything. My suggestions are more focussed on maximizing Mayael and more suited for multiplayer.

May I suggest Fatal Frenzy then instead of Blood Rush?

0
Posted 21 March 2014 at 00:27

I agree with Lucy93 and Puschkin... I'd go with putting in at least ONE Kalonian Hydra.
And the fact that the deck's name suggests that it's based on Mayael being its wincon, then there should be some cards to help speed that factor. It may be an 0/0 creature but it does enter with four +1/+1 countrs on it, and they double the moment he attacks.

Fatal Frenzy is worse than Bloodrush? same manacosts but you have to sacrifice the unit
yeah well i put 1 in =P

0

Fatal Frenzy also grants trample which should be nice with most of your creatures.

0
Posted 21 March 2014 at 15:54

you get trample via rancor

0

That's a separate card. Also, Rancor isn't instant.

0

Seems weak to removal. Doesn't Spearbreaker dole out indestructibility? That might be worth running if it does. Otherwise, seems okay. I'd probably run Prime Time somewhere in the 75.

And Bioshift can be used to win you a quick game.

Bloom Tender? Drumhunter? this are cards I run usually on Naya decks, Oblivion Ring is a good card also. I know there is no kill like overkill, but if you nend 1 big fat creature to win, taking that many is counter productive. also, Spearbreaker Behemoth is amazing, but Vexing Shusher fits the curve pretty nicely and can make your Mayael's Arie/Rancor etc.. uncountereable.

Also Mage Slayer, works wonders with this kind of decks, and manlands with Trace of Abundance are great Rancor targets (Raging Ravine after a wipe).
