Deck Description

Korlash voltron with a necropotence engine. I built this specifically for games against mono-colored decks that seek to combo out/ counter-lock games, and for the occasional azusa ramp deck. If you piss me off, the black blade will definitely make you rue the day you ever did. Great out of the box commander.

How to Play

Essentially, i play a plethora of control cards (creature kills, discard effects, tutors) to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike with a korlash + nightmare lash effect combo. It usually takes the game completely by surprise, as you can come out of nowhere and kill off the main threat. Necropotence + reliquary tower & ivory tower/ venser's journal is my first attempt at seizing the game, and people are usually distracted enough by that to not realize that i can just kill them with Korlash. Don't be afraid to let him go to your graveyard either, you have plenty of reanimator spells. You want to use your creature removal early to keep the pressure on aggressive decks, and your discard to out control reactive decks, and the occasional reanimator spell to keep pressuring ramp decks.

READ: if there is no group-hug ramp deck, cards like crypt ghast, caged sun, extraplanar lense and cabal coffers are ESSENTIAL to gaining card advantage, as well as using your tutors WISELY. Dimir Machinations should be reserved for necropotence ONLY. Remember, you need to bide your time and control the field or everyone will gang up on you. your prime targets should be the combo player or the main threat, dont just kill off random people with the Blackblade as you will then proceed to take it up the ass from the rest of the people at the table.
