I've been doing a ton of testing for the deck and I've decided to go lotus cobra and no birds. This is because it's possible to get 2 titans out 3rd turn! While the birds can come out 1st turn, which is nice, the cobras add a cumulative effect. That is to say, if you have 2 birds you have two mana, if you have 2 cobras you have much more than two mana with ramp. I don't want to add them both because I feel that I get too much ramp and not enough punch with all of them in. I prefer the raging ravine to the copperline for control decks since its tough to get rid of them. Since they come into play tapped (as do valakuts) I can toss them out first turn since I don't have birds. I like the acidic slimes, but I would probably put them in the sideboard if I were you. I highly recommend adding 2 thruns for control since that is the theme that gives valakut a hard time. Let me know how it works out. Best of luck!

I personally prefer cobras to birds. If you do go cobra you can drop the cultivate for harrows since the combo can get you two turn 3 titans with the right hand. Granted the hand is hard to get!
Thanks! I prefer the lotus cobras to the battlements though. I might try more land sacks though since they work so well with the avenger and cobras.
