Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

If you say yes to any of these questions then don't Leave. Do you like counter spells? Do you like stupid strategies? Do you wish you could play your opponent's deck for less than $25.00? Fantastic, as for all three of you that are still here tell me what you think of my homebrew. (How to improve it, make it cheaper, etc..)

This is like the 3,287 edit so I'm done now enjoy.

How to Play

Deck discussion for Jedi Mind Tricks

I'm thinking about a white or black splash, however I was told green would be stronger. What would you splash? If you have any feed back feel free to leave a comment.

I don't know about splashing, but how about:
-4 Retreat to Coralhelm
-4 Cancel
-2 Dissolve
+2 Omenspeaker <- Just something to play early on
+2 Vedalken Aethermage <- Search a wizard
+4 Sage's Dousing <- Counter + cantrip
+2 Turn Aside <- Combo builds need protection

You're a genius. I really love these cards thanks for the help. I will absolutely add these to my deck.

With Dankirk's suggestions, this looks like a fun deck that might actually win sometimes. I don't know about Carnage Altar though. I'd recommend Muddle the Mixture, but it's spendy. Dizzy Spell could be helpful to get more Gridlocks and Icy Blasts though.

I get where you're coming from, however adding tutors for Gridlock and Icy Blast might be a little over kill sense there is a total of eight already. As for the Carnage Alter, I just wanted a way to kill off the opponents creatures just incase I misplayed and lost control of Willbreaker. Which happens often because I'm bad at magic, but if you are not as bad as me then you can put anything in its place.

You're probably right, overkill. I understand what you're going for with the Carnage Altar, but it's use depends on specific circumstances. Another suggestion would be something like Boomerang, Void Snare, Into the Roil or even Surgespanner for pesky spells you weren't able to counter.

Into the roil does seem like a better answer. Take out the Carnage Alters and a Disciple of the Ring (sense the second one is a dead draw anyway) and put in three Into the Roil in their place?

Give it a try. It always takes some test plays to figure out ratios.

Neat deck!
Gigadrowse could also be good here because if they're gonna counter ur spells, you can replicate a bunch a times so that they can only counter one of the copies and have the rest resolve, which could be better than gridlock and icy blast in some cases. It also taps out other permanents, so it has its uses.

I agree it could be good in those situations, however it is not likely that I am going to run into counter spells in the majority of my games so that is something that I might consider side boarding. But if you play against friends that you know have counter magic then yes that would be a great alternative.

Shenanigans?! I am offended this is the most serious tier one deck out there. But really glad you like it. xD

Are you serious? Jesus this wasn't meant to be close to viable. Did you notice anything that could be improved, lands, cards to cut, or add anything? More importantly, what did it lose to?

I put only 3 of the Sage's Dousing, Only 3 of the Icy Blast, I cut 2 islands out and both of the Stonybrook Banneretts.
and I cut out 1 Vedalken AEthermage because it didn't need to pop up so often. so - 7 cards.
I put in 4 Stream of Unconsciousness(target creature-4/-0 if you control a wizard draw a card) and 3 Peek instead of Gitaxian probe because the flavor text says "sometimes you have to read between the minds" which keeps in theme with Jedi Mind tricks.

Also the list I used was from whatever it was when I posted the comment, with just the changes listed above to add onto the wizard/jedi shit. I don't have a Frost Titan. I think I ran 2 disciple of the ring.

Yeah I did make some changes that I'm not sold on, I just keep updating it whenever I try something new. I really like Stream of Unconsciousness I was thinking about adding it myself. I will try out your build for a while sounds better than what I've got. Thanks for the help.

I love card advantage, so thats what I aimed for. More spells, less helplessness. Besides, a wizard is supposed to have the mental advantage yeah? lol. Thats why I like anything that will give you a draw as an extra effect.

Just wanted to say this is the silliest tier one competitive grand prix deck I've ever seen. The trolling is real. I thoroughly approve. Thumbs up, my good man.

Hate to be "that guy," but given the nature of this deck, I would appreciate a bit of your insight on my Rise from the Tides deck if you have a few minutes.

so. Other upgrades you could run is you win the lottery, snapcaster to replay your spells again and have a flash threat, ponder to find your combo bits, remand as it will always be two mana draw a card, to help you find your combo.

I suck at decks like this but ill see if i can build it online and give you the feedback.

Tbh, you might want to have apotles belssing instead of turn aside as it does the same job , and only costs 2 life if you control thalmaturge allowing you to tap out and still protect your combo.

I love Apostle's Blessing nice catch, I'll defiantly add that to the mainboard if it performs well. Thanks for the advise.

Side note: cards like Complete Disregard that have devoid will kill it. I can't think of any others thought that do the same thing.

I love this deck. I'm definitely going to throw one together. Late to the party but what about Robe Of Mirrors to protect your combo wizards against removal?

I agree with what you're trying to do, but I use Neurok Stealthsuit instead because I can move it at instant speed. I should really update this deck list.

This is the deck list I'm running now if you want to look at it:

Coming late to the party ... anyway, here are two suggestions that would revolutionize this deck:

* You don't really need Thaumaturge + Blast/Gridlock ... all you need is Unnatural Selection! Or Opposition for that matter ...

* Add some paragraphs to your ten foot Wall of Text that is your "How to Play" section :)

They are not modern legal, but they would be great. I'm going to update the how to play section and deck list soon as well. :)

I hate to be that guy, but I'm not sure I am seeing your win condition here. Its a lot of card draw and control but I'm just not seeing how to win with it....NVM i'm dumb.

Well I mean vs gixis control or esper control its rather bad , due to not really being able to live though a resolve wrath of god, but it does look like it could be able to steal all the creatures on the battlefield.
