Deck Description

U/B Mill+Extraction Deck

This deck uses most of the best mill cards plus a little bit of extraction cards to not only thin out their deck but to also removed their best cards.

Wind Zendikon can be used for defense or combos well with Eradicate and fetch lands.
Play Wind Zendikon on an opponents land and then Eradicate it to remove all of that type of land from their deck. Follow that up with a Mind Funeral and mill them for most of their deck.
Play Wind Zendikon on a fetchland that you haven't sacrificed yet. When you do sacrifice it you will get your land back and you will still get to put an untapped land into play. You can also recover a Ghost Quarter in the same way. Great for mana acceleration or to fuel Hedron Crab.

Ghost Quarter is also a great way to trick your opponent into letting you trigger a free Archive Trap.

Hedron Crab will mill a ton of cards with all the landfall from fetch lands and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds ensures you can always play a land.

Deck discussion for Mill Extraction U/B

this is quite a bit better than mine, the first criticisum i have is that I think you have one very good target for your isochron scepter (glimpse the unthinkable) but tome scour and surgical extraction are not great for it. there are the obvious choices of orims chant or silence, but if you don't wanna dabble in white then maybe mind freeze could be the ticket, or my personal favorite for isochron.... Aether Burst.

Yeah this deck is still a work in progress.
I was thinking of trying something else out with the scepter and ended up not doing it and haven't figured out what I want to put in its place yet. Its great but doesn't have enough synergy or instants in this deck build to work out.
I had thought about brain freeze with or without the scepter and I also thought about Echoing Truth which is similar to Aether Burst. I just couldn't get a nice looking build together for this deck. Maybe I will try another build more focused on scepter and some good bounce, mill and counter spells.

Probably going to put in black suns zenith in its place and use it to kill small creatures and hope that my eradicates can be there for the bigger ones.

I have never played with Aether Burst before. Do you think it is more effective than Echoing truth? I can see both being better in different situations. Aether Burst has the potential to bounce multiple types of creatures to your hand but is not guaranteed to do more than one. (especially with one exiled with the scepter. Echoing truth can do all of any one type of non land permanent so it seems a little more versatile.

Ill try to keep you updated as I get new builds and ill let you know if I ever figure out the best build. :-P

yes this is a nice deck more focused on instants and soreceries rather than creatures

Excellent deck! The only suggestion I could make is maybe a few spell pierce? Slows down your opponent's tempo early and they'll be thinking about that untapped island....

Thanks! Spell Pierce is an excellent card and I will try it out some time. It is true that I am pretty prepared for creatures but not very prepared for non creature spells. If I go up against someone with a combo deck or another spell based deck I will have problems unless i get lucky and surgically extract an important card.
