Deck Description

Well, I took a look at Xenograft, and the cogs started turning...the idea is to make all creatures you control Fungus in order to kick off the Sporesower Thallid's ability, which in conjunction with the Sporoloth Ancient means that your Saprolings create more Saprolings. I was thinking about putting Conqueror's Pledge or something in, but that would mean adding white, and that just gets messy. Paradox Hazes for the obvious reasons. Spot of ramping to round it all off, due to the MASSIVE 5-mana hump.

Marking as unloved, partly because I'm interested in making this modern legal replacing the Symbiosis, and I saw someone mention the Xenograft/Fungus-type combo in a comment recently :P

Deck discussion for Saprolings Beget Saprolings

This is a great deck! I love the idea of using Xenograft to make all your saprolings make more saprolings. That's just evil! Great job man.

My thanks dear boy! I swear, these days I look at all cards from new sets and think "hey, how could this be of relevance to my darling Saprolings" :P Reaper king is a great card to pair it with though, oh damn.

Marked as unloved again, mainly because I'm interested in whether there's anything new that might be of relevance? Green blue, huge, huge amounts of Saprolings.

I hate to break it to you but Mirrorweave targeting Sporesower Thallid doesn't work the way you think it does. the trigger from Thalliad happens at the "beginning" of the upkeep. There is no time in which you can do anything before the beginning of an upkeep.
That said I do really like this Fun with Fungi you've created. I'm gonna suggest adding Obelisk of Urd.

Yeah, something I was always wondering about. I figured as it was instant speed it was "whenever you damn like", but I haven't actually read the rules properly on it. Oh well, more Rites :P and I'll check out Obelisk, thanks :D

With Paradox Haze out, if you Mirrorweave in your first upkeep, the upkeep effects will trigger in the extra upkeeps granted by Paradox Haze (just not in the original upkeep).

Sprout Swarm is an awesome Saproling production card that works wonders at the end of the opponent's turn :P
Convoke for 5 on each cast (convoke covers its buyback) and you get 1 Saproling, then use the new Saproling + 4 more creatures to repeat the process. It may not be infinite, but it does increase your number of Saprolings by a sizable amount.

Also, you may want to consider Evolving Wilds and / or Terramorphic Expanse. Getting the correct colour mana is very important.

Yeah, mana fixing was also something that I was thinking about, I spent too long originally on the balance of stuff and just ignored the mana base :P smart move, and thanks. Sprout Swarm I've been debating over for a while vs Saproling Symbiosis, the buyback is a real boon there. Perchance a little playtesting is in order.

And thanks for the tip about Mirrorweave, Paradox Haze is pretty core to making this work so I'll have to test that back out again.

I believe that you'll come to love Sprout Swarm.
As for Mirrorweave, I think max 2 should be enough as it'll be very reliant on both a creature worth targeting and at least one Paradox Haze.
