Deck Description

This deck encompasses 2 main mechanics:

1 - Copy spells - the use of "Training Grounds"/ "Lightning Bolt" & "Izzet Guildmage" allows you to cast a 3 damage spell for one red mana then copy it again and again with the guildmage's ability, the training grounds also reduces this cost to a single blue mana instead of 2B. The only limit that you would have is how much blue mana you have to spend on the copies, and if that wasn't enough, each copy can target something different.

2 - Infinite Damage - This combo is a way of killing someone by just drawing a card. you cast "Niv-Mizzet" and then enchant him with "Curiosity." As soon as you draw a card, Niv will deal 1 damage to your opponent, curiosity will then allow you to draw another card as he dealt damage to an opponent and the cycle continues until your opponent is dead or you have run out of cards to draw.

The only drawbacks to this combo are:
1 - if the opponent has hex-proof in which case the combo is useless,
I have included some "Into the roil" to try and combat any permanents that give players hex-proof and I have also sideboarded some counter-spells should you need to use them.

2 - Niv has to deal the 1 damage to something, that could mean yourself or creatures you control, so you have to play the combo carefully.

Deck discussion for Niv-Mizzet + Infinate Damage

With your first combo, I've been trying to figure out a way to make it infinite mana with Pyretic Ritual--with it being an instant, you just have to figure out some way to make the red mana blue. The two things I can come up with are splashing white for False Dawn, or using Gemstone Array.

With a Traing Grounds, Izzet Guildmage and Gemstone Array out, cast Pyretic Ritual. Use RR to put a charge counter on Gemstone Array, remove it for U to use Guildmage's ability. Every time you copy it you net R. Fireball ftw. Seriously convoluted, but fun.
