Deck Description

This is my current project for a standard deck. It works very well but i'm afraid it will be dominated by board wipes such as Supreme Verdict. Also it looses a lot of its power from cards like Elixir of Immortality and Tormod's Crypt. Duress and Unsummon are an attempt to combat these weaknesses. Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Deck discussion for Artful Aberration

You don't really need the nightveil specters in there. Consider using invisible stackers instead which work very well with paranoid delusions. Mind grind isn't useful unless you have a lot of mana, and by then you often find yourself overrun. You should have some removal yourself. Use mutilate for board wipes. Your Aberrations and wights will probably be big enough that they will live through those. Finally a really useful spell to include is essence harvest. It drains life based on the power of your biggest creature. If you have a 20/20 aberration in play one essence harvest means game over. It can also be used earlier to give you some life to gain time to mill some more. Finally, include a couple rogue's passages. If you have an 20/20 aberration but no artful dodge, but you have the mana, you can still swing in for the kill unblocked. I have a similar deck and love playing it. I included two Talrand, sky summoners since the ciphers and spells can give me a lot of 2/2 fliers. Enjoy!

I really like essence harvest and the Rogue's Passage(I can't believe I forgot about it). I see your point with the nightveil specters so I removed them and added some Jace Phantasm and another Balustrade Spy. Mutilate is a good board wipe I was considering taking Illness in the ranks over it but decided mutilate was over all the best choice that can be boarded in. As for Mind Grind I feel that it is to good to be taken out even if i'm paying 1 for X and the land is 8-10 cards its well worth it and it discourages decks that search for land. I also originally had Talrand and more ciphers but Supreme Verdict shut it down. Thanks for the suggestions they helped a lot maybe ill be able to compete with all the B/W players in FNM now.
