Ohh, we had same problem with my friends, except we had these "lucky charms" (Wurm's Tooth, Demon's Horn, Angel's Feather, Dragon's Claw, Kraken's Eye and Golem's Heart).
The most hilarious part of it is that they are pretty bad cards after all... We just thought:
"That's just far too annoying if someone of us gets playset of all of those. He can use them in their sideboards and gain 1 LIFE FOR EVERY SPELL HIS OPPONENTS' CAST. That's just some overpowered stuff."

Yeah. That's right. Didn't think about that.

I can try to create simple Faerie deck. I guess that's possible.
Though I think I'm going to add sideboard for it which contains more complicated cards. Your wife can use them when she has gotten more into the MtG.

...Or then I can cut one land away in order to add one more Mayor.

No. All the black cards in that deck are Madrush Cyclops, Lavalanche and Violent Ultimatum.
Don't want to rely too much on the third color.
