Deck Description

G/R werewolf tribal
Balanced midrange/aggro
Has trouble with big fliers sometimes

Finished top 4 in every FNM I have played with this, even since Ravnica came out. Since RTR took away Copperline Gorge, I had to put in Scorned Villagers to accelerate, and they have made a huge difference (especially in enabling Wolfir Silverheart). I have a couple of questions I really need to answer:

1. Should I put Thragtusk in the sideboard?
2. Are there any Ravnica cards I'm missing that can help main or sideboard?
3. Would I be better off making this a Naya/human/werewolf blend?

Thanks for your feedback!

Deck discussion for Werewolf midrange

This is almost identical to my current standard play FNM deck LOL , mine is "slightly" different but not much mine is more based around plain Wolves / Wolf tokens, I run Pyreheart Wolf and Young wolf in mine, as their undying lets them survive a Verdict drop. Pyreheart is basically a win if you have tokens and Wildblood Pack (instigator gang w.e lol) swinging as they gain 2 block requirement and pump. I also do not use Silverheart or Electrickery, and Instead run 2x Garruk Relentless and 2x Mizzium Mortars Other than that though they are pretty much identical, and I know exactly what you mean by big fliers being a problem, Which is why I side in Bower Passage, and Aerial Predation, I also run Witchbane Orbs in my side with Grafdiggers because I realized that a good mill control deck gives me problems.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been wanting to work Pyreheart in, maybe I will look at bringing Daybreak Ranger in from the sideboard. I have been unable to make full use of Mizzium Mortars because the RRR overload is prohibitive, so I went back to Searing Spear for its ability to damage the player if necessary, but I think once Stomping Grounds is back I will make the Mortars a full time member. I think our meta may be a little different, but I love electrickery to set back decks that rely on mana dorks or Lingering Souls. I like the Garruk Relentless suggestion, but the Silverheart has provided a great foil to Thragtusk.

Put in 2 Pyreheart Wolf in place of 2 Searing Spear, awesome results so far, especially against Zombies and tokens.

i'd recommend you side board some afflicted deserters to deal with artifacts.
Also the Caverns are great but your gonna be better off with adding basic land instead, its not gonna work on as much of your deck and your less likely to have basic land for the rootbounds
I'd also recommend either pyreheart wolfs or i personally like Kruin outlaws more.
lastly the scorned villagers are decent, but at least from what i've seen and specially looking at your mana curve, you don't need mana ramp and your better off with something more aggressive like waifs, or that will let you draw like lambholt elders or garruk

Crushing vines and Naturalize both deal with artifacts, and in the current meta the only artifact that really affects me are keyrunes. I play against a lot of counter spells here, so the Cavern's are a necessity. I didn't used to run Scorned Villagers, but what I found is that "Llanowar Riding Hood" can actually be a game changer in unexpected ways, like allowing me a bigger Bonfire or Wolf Run, and allowing for combat tricks with the vigilance, and she draws removal sometimes because people don't realize that I don't really use her for ramp at all. As I mentioned above, I love the addition of Pyreheart Wolf, he really plays well in this deck, and the double-red in Kruin Outlaw is tough to get early...but I have considered using her instead of Wolfir Avenger as defense against Thragtusks and Centaurs, I just think the Wolfir flash is more consistent. Lambholt Elder is just terrible, a vanilla 2/3 if she doesn't flip does nothing to help, but I am trying to get my hands on a couple Garruks. Thanks!

Well good deck! Maybe you should have more instigator gangs and Reckless Waifs, and what about Kruin Outlaw? It's such a good werewolf!
