Deck Description

The idea of this deck is to be a very fast control deck. Stuff like Force Spike, Path to Exile, and Orim's Chant are for putting the opponent on a late start, even though they can be used for many other things. Counterspell is for when you're in the middle of the game and you see a card that can really damage you. And of course, Wrath of God is for those pesky fast aggro decks. Isochron Scepter is for infinite Counterspells or Orim's Chants, just makes it that much harder to get a card down. Meddling Mage is there if there's been one card just completely screwing you over, Meddling Mage's ability can handle it. Wall of Denial is there for all the flying creatures, if they can get past Moat, I doubt they can also get past Wall of Denial. Jace Beleren is there so I can get what I want, and quick. And the main staple of the deck, Moat, this card is there to put your enemy in a complete state where there are unable to attack.

You might of already seen my other Moat Control deck which is what I have currently, this deck here is what I hope to have some day. I know it's expensive has hell and that's why I do not have it yet. Comments are more than welcome unless the only purpose is to say how much it sucks. Most valued tips are just a list a cards I should check out. Also would appreciate a thumbs up for the deck, only if you think it's good of course, because I want it to get more publicity/comments.

Deck discussion for U/W Moat Control Legacy

No hate comments until I MTGVault let's me get the Magic 2010 cards, made this deck with those in mind and just filled the last about 8 cards with cards I don't like very much. Patience.

Update: Just added them in the description, now you can hate this deck, appreciate a card or two you can show me to maybe add to the deck.

whats up my man, i recognize the theme here, and it is a good one fo sho. replace force spike with either Mana Leak, Muddle the Mixture, or Disrupt....these should work better in here, and muddle the mixture can be transmuted if u need anything else. u should deff also consider isochron scepter in a deck like this, imprint that bad boy with orim's chant and this game is over. as my personal preferance i would take out jace and add Ancestral Vision. if u can get that off first turn u will get the replenishing effects on turn 5 when u really need them and if not it will really help a control deck in the late game. other than that this looks really good, check out my control deck ruthless oppression ormy isochron scepter deck hand of god. keep up the good work and hit me up if u want other comments

In the sideboard, I'd add in 3 stifle replacing 1 of each other aside from needle.
Maybe 1 more isochron for the chants, but in legacy scepter gets shut down fairly easily, but no denying that it's great against anything without artifact hate, sadly most people sideboard artifact hate.
Force spike for mana leak would be a good trade out but for a "perfect" counter ability go for force of will.
Jace isn't a bad walker but he isn't that useful to you, i mean card draw is great but there are other cards that do it without letting opponents draw.
I'd throw in cycling lands, you might not think they are that great but trust me, almost every top 8 legacy deck from when I last entered a legacy tourney (which was a long while ago, but still) ran cycling lands for the 1 mana extra card draw.

Deck looks good though.

My biggest concern is that right now Jace is your win condition, not that that's necessarily a bad win condition but what are you going to do against pithing needle naming Jace turn 1? Suddenly your win becomes beatdown with what? meddling mage? that's not going to work if they have a ton of non-fliers itching to kill something.

Sorry, I missed the angel up top, it isn't that I didn't read it, it's that sometimes you forget about those things when you are re-checking the deck for win conditions.
(yes unknownhunter763, baneslayer kicks major ass and that is exactly why it's priced at about $24 right now and may go up a bit, filled my playset the other day, made me ultra happy =] )

Good cycling cards: Any lands that cycle (lonely sandbar and secluded steppe being best). and choking tethers, that may be enough for this.

Add in nimbus maze, and flooded strand, they are GREAT wu lands. In legacy you usually don't care about losing the 1 for the strand and you get to find any land, that's key. Sorry about deck cost, Legacy is an incredibly expensive format to play in.

oh yeah, last thing, Now that I recognize that angels as actually being there, the deck looks great, especiially if you fix up your land base to have cycling lands, strand (which doesn't actually net you ANY land but it nets you tundra or fountain which is what you'd want anyway and doesn't put them into play tapped [unless you want the fountain in play tapped so you don't lose the extra 2, but make it easier and just search for tundra]) and nimbus.

you gotta add isochron scepter if you're running orim's chant. The rules for isochron even allow you to pay the kicker, so now for 2W your opponent can't attack or play spells and it's recurring. have fun.
