Getting the best out of the creature type and playing off of sacrificing creatures for the theme. Mortician Beetle and Blade of Bloodchief give the deck super potential to smack someone upside the head. I need ways to increase the sacrifice benefits and make the damage to be dealt worse (maybe Basilisk Collar)

Hey check out my deck that I have been working on http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=72872, somewhat of the same idea, I almost went with vampires but everyone is so sick of them. :) If you are going to sacrifice creatures, be sure that it benefits you, and the more ways it does the better. IF you decide to stick with vampires, I would suggest adding sanguine bond + blood tribute, my favorite combo of all time. Also if you are playing people with planeswalkers, vampire hexmage is excellent against them. If you play against people that use eldrazi spawn, blood seeker I found whittles away there life quite quickly.

I agree with your suggestions but the life gain combo of sanguine bond + blood tribute is costly and the purpose is to benefit off of death and not be affected by it. gaining life doesn't matter. Crypt of Agadeem was a great addition though.
Viscera Seer is also another card that goes great with this deck!
Now this is my kinda deck, I love the vampires. From my experience with them though, I've never had very good luck with the Highborn. Whenever I put it out it pretty much died......lol I would recommend some Vampire Nighthawks at least another Nocturnus and more Gatekeepers.
