Deck Description

Updated for JOU:

x4 Banishing Light

How to Play

Revamped for Journey into Nyx. There wasn't really much I wanted to change, as the deck worked pretty darn well. I took out the Gift of Immortality since they weren't my most common win-con. I replaced them with a little spot removal in Banishing Light. Pesky Erebos? Don't worry. Creatures keep coming back in a devotion deck because of Whip or Athreos? No problemo. Detention Sphere got your Nylea? Consider it done.

Lots of trample, lifelink, hexproof, indestructible, and +x/+x buffs... what's not to love?!

Deck discussion for Devotion to Aggro

Any feedback would be most appreciated, especially any ideas concerning adding buffs/pumping the creatures with Lifelink, Trample, and of course more counters.

I'm not too keen on having 4 Boon Satyrs in the deck, I would really like to bring it down to 2. I do, however, really like their flexibility (Flash, creature buff and/or inexpensive creature in a pinch, extra devotion on the board).

Hopeful Edion would be a good fit to lower Boon Satyrs

Hrmmm interesting. I think it's at least worth a sideboard. Thanks for the input.

I would rather use Archangel of Thrune instead of the hydra, because it pumps your creatures and lifelink always helps to keep you ahead in the game. Also interacts better with the Unflinching Courage. On the other hand, you don't rely that much in +1/+1 counters to take the full profit of the Hydra.
If you can check my bant deck ^^

I thought about Thune for a hot minute. She's definitely great for life gain. I really like Kalonian b/c it can get huge in just a few turns and already has trample, really puts pressure on the opponent with the amount of +1/+1 counters it can add to my creatures.. It's also half the price of Thune. I guess it would come down to personal preference. If I continue play-testing and decide I need more white devotion, she may go in. Thanks for the input!

No problem, man. Just my opinion. Other reason why I prefer Thrune is that she has evade (flying), which is also great. But the money issue is an issue by itself jajaj.
Nice deck btw!

mainboard mistcutter hydra its a great win con cant be countered and haste late game drop when theyre open dump a ton of mana into it and swing ftw! and lose the guildgates they only slow you down.

Mistcutter is there for those pesky blue decks, which is more often than not. I had primordial in my deck before I made it standard... Found myself not using it for big drops. I often do the most damage with unflinching courage on Smiters or voice tokens. The ramp from kalonian makes him a big target right away, leaving open everything else to swing.

you could also throw heliods spear in there pump your tokens and have some removal.

Trample negates the need for that kind of removal, however Nylea's bow wouldn't be a bad choice. I had both in my previous version of this deck.

You need two Elspeth's. Her +1 is a helpful addition to voice of resurgence

She was in my older version of this deck. I'm thinking about taking out 2 of the Smiter's and putting in 2x Scavenging Oozes. It's just a hard decision b/c a Smiter with Courage is a 6/6 Trample-Lifelink I can get going on turn 4. The Lions are a new addition. I'm thinking about taking Smiters down a little and using the Lions in the same way on turn 3.

Ethereal armor is a must for any G/W enchantment deck IMO, I know it would change a lot, but I would try -2 kalonian hydra, -2 boon satyr, +2 hopeful eidolon, +2 ethereal armor then with that extra life gain, -2 gift of immortality and +2 archangel of thune, either things or try some nessian wilds ravager, hope this helps!

Interesting change-up. I thought of this deck more of as an aggro deck... try to make the creatures quick, big, and buff them with lifelink/trample/vigilance. Most times when I play this deck I don't even get to the Hydras, I usually do hella-damage with a Fleecemane + Courage or Voice/Gift combo tokens. Experiment One with Voice tokens coming in every turn gets real big real quick. Thanks for the input!

I made a few changes, Eidolon of Countless Battles will be nasty in this deck methinks. I think I might even sideboard the Mistcutter's for Ethereal Armor or Renounce the Guilds just to piss them off even more.

Mainboarded 2 Skylashers after playing against my friend's blue aggro tournament deck. Thanks for the suggestion.

Updated to deal with Stormbreath Dragon and add a little speed for mana with Courser. Any additional feedback is always appreciated. I destroyed my friend's Mono-Black Aggro deck this weekend, and went 1-2 against Jund Monsters (Couldn't effectively deal with Stormbreath Dragon).
