Deck Description

Standard, Mono-Blue Devotion...

How to Play

So... ...gave it a try for a new-Standard Mono-Blue... ...about to test it out.......

The cards have synergy, so I guess it'll work...

It's just amazing how easily I can use Siren's Bestow with Nykthos!.. :)

Icy Blast in the sideboard is an awesome addition... ...I can "trigger" Ferocious with Skulker, Thassa, Angel or perhaps with the Impostor if nothing else would stay on board... ...against aggro decks especially, it's a powerful tide-breaker & also a potential save... ...just a thought - I can also target Mindreaver with Icy Blast to trigger it....... :)

Deck discussion for Skulking Impersonator

Love the synergy, going to do a small tweak and test, 3 Fate foretold and 2 dig through time for Military Intelligence, 4 Void snare for Hypnotic Siren for tempo control

Man... ...this deck works really good!.. ...definiately doesn't need Void Snare... ...perhaps a 2nd Military Intelligence in the main deck, but I also need the 4 Fate Foretold... ...perhaps both Illusory Angel should be sideboard... ...not sure about that either.......

Yeah Angel can be a pain as you ramp up, I use it in my ensoul deck, much easier then you are dropping Ornithopters :) I think I am going to test as is forget the Void snare and throw in a second Military Int for the Angel as you suggest. Also going to cut Thassa to 2 and throw in Icy Blast X 2 since it should be easy to get the Skulkers to 4 or better then use Nykthos/Icy Blast to tap the opponents creatures for 2 turns if they are using an agro deck or a green ramp and have some heavies out before I can get the kill.

I've thought about Blast, but couldn't find space... ...Thassa's unblockable ability usually gives you the victory in time with Nykthos(you just make every or at least most of your creatures unblockable)... ...though Thassa might be better off as a 3 of... ...anyways, I forgot about Icy Blast when I was building the sideboard & I think instead of Wall of Frost, it'd be amazing... ...Walls ain't so good with Military intelligence anyway.......

Curse of the Swine is not so good now since there are less Devotion decks & that card is best for disrupting Devotion... ...those 2/2-s can still pose threat at times, so I guess I'm gonna' drop Curse...

With these 5 cards out of the sideboard, I could use 3 Icy Blast & perhaps 1-2 more counters & may be 1 more Intelligence...

Now I think for Icy Blast to have Ferocious, keeping all 4 Thassa would increase the chanse as Thassa in this deck is easier to have as a creature than in any pre-rotation Mono-Blue deck, cuz of the many draw effects here...

...hmm... ...when I started building this deck I haven't thought it'd be this fluid... :)

...& you really helped me out here making it even better!.. Thanks!

wow didn't see the effectiveness until I drew hands and seen how fluid it is. the card draw is immensive and the deck smashes fast. I'd put in a 2nd intelligence in the main deck just really seems like nothing could be taken out

Yeah, that's my dilemma, but FAte Foretold is better 85% of the time, so those 2 kinda' complete each other... ...that's why I use only 1 Military Intelligence in the main deck... ...besides, you can't always attack like that, even though you can most of the time.......

very fluid indeed! devotion really builds up faster than in the previous blue decks no matter there arent as many blue mana symbols on permanents. this will see much play if it leaks out.
