Deck Description

wickeddarkman enlisted me in his project of Halfdecks, where you make literally a half-deck, and other people can combine it with their half-decks to create a new deck.

How to Play

This is the second part of my halfdeck - Super Hostile - for you to look at. Feel free to combine it with your halfdecks and make something new and interesting!
This half is a little more creature-heavy than the first.

NOTE: like the first, this half works best with an Aggro deck.
ALSO NOTE: The Hatchling are my only form of Flying defence, in case I can't burn the opponent for any reason.

Deck discussion for wdm: Super/Hostile 2

dragon hatchling will only work if someone builds a halfdeck that can support red mana!
(Most of my designs support all colors, so they will work)

But if it doesn't work very well you can try adding manaforge cinder to increase the size of it's breath.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention.
The Hatchling are my only form of Flying defence, in case I can't burn the opponent for any reason.

So it's there for defence? Not offence?

Mainly for Defence. But, if you have spare/leftover Red mana, it's great for offence!
So, either way, it depends on your situation.

Sorry about the spam :D
I'm making a guide on how to build halfdecks!
Go take a look and give me as much input as you have made yourself so far!
One topic that I need a lot of input on is how to test a halfdeck!!!

That does make a lot of sense.

Sometimes you have to rekindle the spark of something, so here's a small nudge to all halfdeck-designers!
I have not been building any new halfdecks since last time anyone participated, but I have been playing in both modern and legacy with some halfdeck designs, and can say that I'm starting to get good results with 2 of my merged designs. I started of with a black half focussed on discard, and a blue design based on counterspells. It went okay but wasn't radical enough. Second attempt I tried with black discard with deathtouch coupled with green and deathtouch, and I have now won at least 9 points in both modern and legacy with it.
Once I get at least 12 points in both formats I will declare the couple for stable, and then I will see what happens when I either play BU-discard+deathtouch+counterspells+countercritters or UG-counters+countercritters+deathtouch critters.

I write to each and everyone of you to know if anyone else besides me have got anything that might work in either modern or legacy :D

Guess what we’re trying to bring this back, so I’ve decided to revive this deck

I actually want this to be a new thing that shops do, but I don’t really need to see it at the pro tours

They have been very close at making it in the past, and it was close again with their jumpstart project.

I often take 10 halfdecks with me to large tournaments in case I meet new players who wants to try it. I have made a small manual for each half with the decklist on it so they can learn what the half does quickly and they know how to split them back.

In the future I will use proxies and mark each half with a number so the decks can be split back faster. If you use the same idea on commoncards instead of proxies, you could use a goldmarker.
