Deck Description

Deck that tries to make a bazillion mana and cast the opponents deck, or at least half of it.

There's a solid monogreen devotion shell with a splash of blue for Sagu Mauler, so you can win by beating down as well. The mana engines are Kruphix, God of Horizons, Dictate of Karametra and Nykthos. Combine two of the three together and you can generate up to 20 and more cards of wealth out of nowhere from your opponents deck. If you do that, whatever they are playing, you are probably going to plague wind them and end up with a giant board position.

How to Play

You play initially like a green ramp deck, try to get your cards on the field. Once you have kruphix online, start storing mana in him while keeping your big guys to block. If you find a Nykthos, you can store insane amounts of mana. Use all the scrylands to dig for the win condition, which is either Villainous Wealth for X > 10, or beat down with a giant Genesis Hydra that digs for Sagu Mauler or a Polukranos.

Example of the god play with all three mana engines: You have six lands (one Nykthos) and Kruphix the God, Courser of Kruphix and a voyaging Satyr. You draw Dictate of Karametra with Villainous Wealth in your hand. You activate Nykthos on their end step to generate 4 mana, tap one extra to play the Dictate. Now you untap Nykthos, use your remaining lands to store 12 mana in Kruphix. Then you untap for your turn. You now have six devotion. You can play a land, generate 20 mana, untap nykthos, generate another 12 mana for 32 mana in your pool. Now you can cast Villainous Wealth for X = 29.

If you don't expect to lose on the following turn (having a 4/7 indestructible wall in play and all), you can keep storing mana and just play their entire deck the turn after which ends up with their deck under your control and them losing on their draw step due to not having a card to draw, though this is risky as one banishing light on the God ruins all the fun.

Deck discussion for Villainous God of Horizons

Dude, sweet deck. I thought Villainous Wealth would be constricted to sideboards. If I have one suggestion, it's that since you only need one Villainous Wealth to turn the game, drop one copy for another Nissa. Or something for Nissa, it's honestly one of the very best cards in the format. I wouldn't want to play a deck like this without about 3. And about 2 copies of Darksteel Citadel too, as indestructible 4/4s are pretty broke.

Thanks. You may be right, getting stuck with too many of those sorceries in hand is not great. Instead of Nissa, what do you think about adding another mana sink maybe like Hydra Broodmaster or See the Unwritten.

I might make a 2/2 Kiora/Nissa split though. Because I need three colours and I already play Nykthos as a colourless land, playing Darksteel Citadel does not seem very smart though.

That's a good reason not to play them, and the 2/2 split looks good to me. My only complaint with the deck right now is that I don't like the inclusion of Dictate of Karametra. It's good, but so is the rest of your ramp and I don't know that it's good enough to warrant being 5 mana. It feels like win-more. Have you considered Prophet of Kruphix?

Dictate just propels you out of control in one turn :P Its only a one of and its there as this deck just wants to go out of control now and then.

Highly relevant to this deck: http://www.starcitygames.com/article/29584_My-Villainous-Wealth-Continues.html

I really like the control deck with 4 copies each of Dictate of Karametra, Villainous Wealth, and In Garruk's Wake.

Check it out!

If I may suggest, right now your Polluted Deltas are actually more than the lands they can fetch so I guess a number tweaking is needed there. Sweet deck though :D

Nah. The odds that you draw all 4 are not Good so you can do that.

I still took it down to 3 and added an Opulent Palace, as for this deck it still matters a lot if the seventh/eight land is live or not.

Have you thought about using Rattleclaw Mystic for more mana? Getting 2 for 1 is nice and morphing for 5 is an easy way to get Kruphix out a turn earlier.

I also made a deck building around Villainous Wealth. http://www.mtgvault.com/steomi/decks/bug-fun/

I really like this deck Idea! However have you thought of possibly less temples? More so with temple of deceit, I mean you have opulent palace and polluted delta. And being your only black card is villainous wealth you might get stuck with mana entering tapped and wouldn't be able to make as big of moves as you hoped for. And with Nissa, if you can get herakor ability off then it would be nice to have more basic lands in there so you can add more lands
