I would consider this deck mostly combo with a splash of aggro and controlishness. I like versatility and synergy. I can gain a decent amount of life, mill a lot of the opponents deck, defend against a few different creature-centric decks, and even get some damage across. 25% of the time, the combos don't come through, so it ends up being a stall game and I take over the long clock.I'm looking to refine it further, if anyone has thoughts or suggestions.
The main idea is to get a Sphinx's and Kruphix out as early as possible and mill their deck, and have a Fascination or two come through early to build up the mana and creature base, or help mill if the right cards keep coming. There are some additional combos out on the battlefield to help the draw game with Gudul Lurker, Palace Familiar, Elusive Spellfist, and Warriors' Lesson. Life's legacy helps if Palace Familiar just won't die, or I need desperate early to mid-game draws when the opponents battlefield is slim.I like to catch the opponent off guard, and I bank on not many people bothering countering Gudul Lurker or Palace Familiar, or killing it until they realize the threat they could become with Tutelage out.Kiora's Follower for some extra mana and block.Finally, Genesis Hydra for some quick battlefield power, and Kiora for versatility across the game. Kiora is great for a little creature stall, a little extra mana, and finally battlefield power if necessary.
