Deck Description

This Legacy deck was the idea me and a friend of mine had for exploiting Bloodghast.

The basic mechanics of this deck should be pretty obvious. Green splash is for sideboard and the best 2 mana creature ever printed.

Deck discussion for Bloodghast Control

Jesus ****in' Christ dude. This is brutal! Tarmagoyf + Bloodghast = Absurd.

Don't forget the best equipment ever printed kills aggro decks :)

This is just naaaasty, bloodghast with smallpox is like freaking cheating!

Only thing I can suggest you to think about is perhaps Unmask, and/or Thoughtseize. They're freaking brutal towards combo.

I have been wondering about thoughseize vs Duress for a while but decided that since combo doesn't play creatures and duress requires one more spell by TES, that duress is the better choice. I'm not sure if I want it on the board, but do far the chalices have been amazing.

Makes sense, but luckily we don't see that many storms over here(we all find them a bit douchey).
I'm more accustomed to NO, Countertop, and the little crap fish does. All of these find themselves with heavy creature support, so I usually would rather a Thoughtseize than a Duress.

I don't play paper Legacy competitively (I'm 17 and in highschool...) so I play online at Magic League. We have a very diverse Legacy community with some very good players (as in PTQ regulars). I see plenty of TES, which is why you will notice basically every legacy tournament quality deck I have posted runs anti-TES stuff. Also, since this deck is, by its nature, weak vs TES, I figure every little bit helps.

If you want to try this deck out in your meta, then I would replace Duress with Thoughseize, and on the board go:
3x Duress
3x Extirpate
3x Bob
3x Nature's Claim
3x Bitterblossom

I assume you see ThopterTop? I really hate that deck. What do you play btw?

Oh, I see thoptertop... It can suck my balls, I hate it almost as much as ANT.

And I'm not really playing anything serious because of the Mystical Tutor banning ripping the consistency out of Reanimator's everywhere... I'm thinking about sloooowly amassing a 36-lands deck, it's pretty stable, and it seems more fun than joining the ranks of the hated and going storm.

I too am a broke highschooler, so I'm in a similar boat. I just get asked to build decks for people, and somebody even wanted to pay me for the reanimator list I have up, until MT got banned.....

Yea, I've gotten some cash for that kind of stuff too. I never liked Reanimator to be honest.

I've experimented with lands to some degree, and if you want I can post the list. storm is good, but I don't think its the be all end all the way Survival was.

I LOVE Reanimator, it had the tech to deal with EVERYTHING. Every Survival deck I've seen scopped, if they couldn't stop my first creature it was game.

And I would actually like to see your lands deck, I'm still testing around it myself, and while I understand each piece, I'm not sure if they happen to be optimal.

I've never really tried a deck like this, but I do make a LOT of grave decks, and I can't tell you how many games have been lost due to drawing into multiple Buried Alives... I don't know if your meta is that blue-centric that you need to have the fourth, but usually you only need three.

I am actually running B/g disruption, but in the opposite manner. I use rogues, and have fallen in love with the card Earwig Squad.

Nice call. Done some retouching, increasing the mana disruption and bringing in thoughtseize for duress. Also followed your suggestion regarding Buried Alive. What do you think now?

Sinkehole will pay you back with a game won for each penny spent dude, I wholeheartedly approve of that.

As for a play set of rituals, well I'm a blue player(shocker, isn't it?) so I see the card disadvantage before the speed advantage... I just don't know how I feel about running more than two any more, it's just to east to be hit by a two-for-one.

Ever wonder why an extractor doesn't take out Dark Rituals? This very reason. It might seem like taking away those speed boosts would be a good idea, but letting the opponent play them into a trap and/or nothing at all is a lot better.

A rocket without guidance is a bomb =P

(If you can't tell, I've been in an Extraction mood lately, be on the look-out!)

Can you please explain why you like Extractor? I think its the dumbest archtype since mono green control

Extraction is just so versatile. It can adapt to any deck thrown at it and quickly cripple that deck. Ever wonder what ANT looks like without Ad Nauseum? Look at WnB's MBC deck. It was a great deck, an amazing deck. But then MT was ripped from it and it just doesn't work. That's exactly what Extraction can do, it makes a deck not work.

I wonder, have you ever truly played against an Extraction deck? I feel you are vastly underestimating how destructive they really can be. The only time I've lost using my Pure Evil deck is against turn 1 or turn "0" decks.

No, I've never played against Extractor. It may be simply because I play Gobs, Lands, and Affinity, the hardest decks for you to beat really

-_-

You play all three of those? Y'Bastard. In truth your Lands deck scares me. I'm pretty sure it would be an ordeal to play any of my Extractions against. Lands, as I mentioned, is the hardest thing for Extraction to fight, and on top of that, your Lands deck is ****ing good.

(I'd feel sorry for any third party member caught in the middle of that hell-fire =P)

Well damn. Damn. Damn it, Joe! Now I have /another/ $40 card to add to my wishlist... Sinkhole is sick!

I keep forgetting that Magic League exists.. Maybe I should look into that and build a deck that isn't constrained by budget, that I likely wouldn't actually purchase. 's really the reason why I always build black around Crucible / Bloodghast / Diabolic Intent / Lake of the Dead.. (But hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it)

This looks brutal! An eloquent blend of aggro control. Nether Traiter and Bloodghast make such a nice couple, always makes me smile when I see them together :P

If you don't already have Sinkhole don't invest in it. It's as good as dead in legacy and replaced by Vindicate + Mox Diamond/Chrome Mox. Sinkhole is not versitile enough and legacy is to fast for it to tip many games in your favour.
I used to run an Eva Green list with Sinkhole and I replaced my sinkholes with Vampire Nighthawk and the deck became so much better. 40$ Sinkhole has been replaced by a 2$ creature, sad but true.

If you have to go for sinkhole land destruction in legacy combine it with 4 Wasteland and 4 stifle and then you are getting somewhere.

Bloodghast is really weak in the format because it can't block. I tested it and not being able to block gets you killed, fast.

Although I agree sinkhole is kinda slow, following up a Pox with a Sinkhole is pretty powerful. Bloodghast is in here for kinda the same, but I'll admit nighthawk is sweet

Personally I would play 3xJitte. The deck really needs the lifegain Jitte provides.

i began with 3 Jitte, but I decided to cut one when I added Smallpox. It is a powerful card, and your dead right about it being very powerful to use for lifegain, but I have found in general 2 is sufficient. I have been considering adding a third to the sb to bring in vs aggro decks however.
