The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

With Caw Blade gone, standard might become a format where deck building skill maters... Stranger things have happened right? Here's an idea I've been screwing around with... Thoughts?

All of Standard is rusty man, it's no biggy. And like I said, I like this, it looks solid. =]

Damn you, can't you ever suggest anything? I don't care if it "looks solid". No deck is perfect. I spend atleast an hour a day working with my affinity deck... Trust me. No list is perfect

HAHAHA, sorry dude. Uhm...I use Æther Figment in mine, and it does wonders for me to be honest. I'd at least give it a try. I was going to say that Wurmcoil didn't fit...but then I saw how fast you could get him out with the Architect...holy balls. Mental Misstep is something to always consider, at least for the SB. The card is essential for some MU's

Hmmm.... Good call of Figment, if I can find room. Forgetting MM was, well, a mental misstep on my part.

Yea, I was testing online and the dude goes "illusions? seriously? noob"

Turn 4 he is looking at a Wurmcoil Engine

Big fan of illusions, very nice deck creature wise. I am curious about the spell choices however. I feel like there may be better choices for them but I don't play blue standard so I can't be much help. Great deck though

Be aware you are talking to someone who hasn't played standard since before SoM came out...

What spell choices do u question and why?

Its not necessarily that I question them. Those spells would work. I would however feel that straight counters would be more efficient such as maybe mana leak. Rather than returning the threat to their hand so they may play it again, i feel cancelling it altogether is more efficient. I also still like preordain more than ponder but that honestly is more of a personal thing. Again its not that I don't like your choices I think I personally might go a more countering route.

I'm trying to play this as an aggro deck, so Vapor Snag works perfectly actually. Buys me time and pings them for 1. In a control deck you are totally right though.

I like Ponder more, mainly because of the extra card you get to see. But maybe that's the legacy player in me forgetting this isn't legacy.... In legacy Ponder>>Preordain because that extra card really can be win or lose. Besides, we got fetchlands for psedo-scry effects. In Standard, that's probably not the case

I've been suggesting on all illusion tribals that I've seen so far that Swiftfoot Boots is a nice way to protect the lord :p

Explain? Your wrong, but I'm interested in that your thinking.... I don't see any connection.

Besides, I said u had to EXPLAIN the title (reading is pro)

I was thinking maybe it had been comparing the deck to a Chapman Grand touch-bass. It's basically a bass stripped bare of everything non-essential, and because of this it allows for easy tapping, thus classifying it as a 'touch' instrument.

If you've ever listened to Dream Theater, John Myung plays stick bass. And if you're a King Crimson fan, Tony Levin was also a stick player, and Trey Gunn plays touch guitar.

Ahhh, nope. I'm being a bit more punny than that... (also never heard of touch bass)

He didn't copy much of surewhynots Illusions deck at all but almost all of this is a cut and paste of mine. Sheesh!

just teasein, I realize that for a standard blue aggo illusions deck there is a pretty limited pool of cards to draw from and you probably just had the same idea as me and didn;t even see my deck. So it goes without sayin that I like your deck :)
