Tainted field isn't standard, so for the deck to be standard legal Godless Shrine and Isolated Chapel are the answer. Also, they almost never come into plat tapped, as you just pay the life cost.

I love the deck, it was the base of my very own Orzhov deck, though mine is a little more tailored to the local meta. From someone who has made such a beautiful deck, I'd love some advice. To return it in kind though, I'd recommend side-boarding Blind and main-boarding sign in blood. You'll have the life to spare, and you need draw power. Blind isn't a bad card, but only against straight up aggro decks. Against other control, it's absolutely useless.

Definitely looking for some help and improvement. I know that Orzhov doesn't have a good track record in standard Tourney right now, but I'd like to go as far as I can. I don't have a large budget, hence the lack of Isolateds in there.

Removed Jhessians and added Coiling Oracle. Now, the potential for mana is ridiculous. Turn one, arbor Elf and land. Turn two, Oracle, land, Phantasmal (as copy of Coiling), place another land into play. Wonderful little bases to begin the game.

Made a quick change, removing clone and adding Renegade Doppelganger. It'll allow more speed, along with versatility with Jhessians.

Not a bad looking..concept. Currently this is my Orzhov deck, and it works wonders against both speed and late game combo decks. http://www.mtgvault.com/remylei3eau/decks/orzhovian-reaper/

That's setting him up for a very slow paced game, which isn't going to win for him. First off, whilst Orzhov Charm is a good secondary kill, and a good versatility card it doesn't replace murder due to the fact that you're looking at life loss. I can honestly say I'm alot more pleased to draw Murder, or even any of the other countless kill spells as opposed to charm. Secondly, (And unfortunately) Syndicate Enforcer is one or the more useless cards for it's cost. For 4 mana I could drop an Alms Beast, a Knight of Obligation, an Rhox Faithmender, or even a Vampire Knighthawk, along with hitting an extort. He simply isn't worth the cost. Also, the gates aren't bad, but he has nothing that synergies with them, at least not until Dragon's Maze comes out. So unless he's gong Isolated Chapel or Godless Shrine he probably should touch duel lands. Though, it's all just my opinion.

i think the color is mostly ignored due to the fact that it doesn't possess as much speed as some other colors. I mean looking at the competition, Boros Ramp, Red/Green Wolf Ramp, Monored ramp, and Simic is a powerhouse. We can do it though, as I've seen a good few Orzhova decks on this site at least. Good luck!

Definitely use trades to your advantage. There are some people on here that are willing to trade cards both locally and via mail. Purchase some booster packs and pull most of what you need from there. Local card shops sometimes cut you deals on bulk amounts. Otherwise it's just going to take time to get it to point. For mimicking my build try and ignore the lands and work from there first. That should cut down the budget a decent bit and allow you to build. Also, Obzedat isn't actually required to make that deck as scarey as it is, so thus you could wait a bit on him as well. Those cards aside you should have a relatively decent budget deck, then using trades from other colors you should be able to get what you need. Focusing on Godless shrine, then Obzedat, then the Isolated Chapel. Good luck playing our wonderful Orzhov, as it seems to be a neglected color in standard. Check my other decks, and I'll sling your work in progress a "like".

One thing that's going to be really helpful is what budget you're working with. I've been play-testing my current Orzhov at local FNM and so far it's gone about 9-2, my only weakness being straight aggro (Usually Boros, or monored). Check it out and see what you're looking at, and what you can integrate.

I did do a play run using Proxy cards, and it worked incredibly well against another Simic as well as a Boros. Had no issues getting the Ozze out although he didn't play as much a factor as I wanted him to, because Rancor had him not being blocked which didn't let him pump as fast. But I used Gyre, then Bio to swling them onto him, rancor'ed him, then swing swing. :)

I normally use Biovisionary as a target. I don't expect his power to pop off in the slightest but instead that he'll suck up kill spells. Though I can see both budget wise and offensive wise how the Krasis would prove to be a more viable option.
(Edit) It's been updated using the suggestion.
