Yeah Nissa has some advantages over Kumena and I think Seeflor Oracle can replace its second ability because you are interested in going aggro than keeping 3 fish ready to spin for a card. Nissa can also act as Aether Vial replacement.I dont know about Mist-Cloaked Herald while Kumena's Speaker may be abetter choice and a third Merfolk Branchwalker could also fit into it

I would replace Jadelight Ranger for Merfolk Branchwalker because its a turn 2 player while Ranger goes turn 3 first. The difference is a (G) more for possibly one more counter that is irrelevant while you play Deeproot Elite. While playing Deeproot Waters, I would replace one Kopala for one Kumena so could use your tokens to fast access the second and thrid ability what makes Jadelight Ranger also obsolete for this deck
+1 But I think you could need some more lands
Why not go for Phyrexian Dreadnought?Phyrexian Dreadnought is 12/12 and could immediatly hit your opponent with haste and a fling in the back hand. I used to utilize Reckless Charge here because it also gives a power boost and could be flashbacked. Then you could Fling it for 15 or get an extra turn with Final Fortune and attack next turn for 12 again
What I have had a long time ago was with Blinkmoth Well to tap the artifact. Using Blinkmoth Well on Storage Matrix helps you to play as normal while opponent(s) are still tapped out.I have also found Nissa, Worldwaker as her second ability untaps up to four Forest.I have also found Prophet of Kruphix that untaps your lands and creatures
What I have found so far is a combination of two creatures: Hokori, Dust Drinker that prevents lands from being untapped and Marble Titan that prevents creatures with power 3 or greater from being untapped so a combination of both utilizing Storage Matrix should fit what you try to achieve
I dont know if Merfolk Mistbinder should/will replace Phantasmal Image or any of the other slots that are for Kira/Kopala. Boost is not anything. In my opinion the green hype is a bit over charged
It dosent, you will still suffer all the damage and potentially fall down when your angel gets Disenchant(ed), Naturaliz(ed) or whatever
"plus you don't take damage from Madcap after that" is partially wrong because Platinum Angel says "You dont lose the game" so your life total can still go beyond zero
I'm missing Empress Galina because she is the most powerfull Merfolk legend for a tribal EDH
@KaianSBTIn fact you will tend to play Splinter to make the job of Echoing Ruin instead of waste your 8 artifacts to destroy the copies on the board so maybe its a 1 drop but i cut it completely for the favor of Splinter, Ancient Grudge, Glissa and other cards.Ingot chewer has no real beneift. Sure you could cast it but you shouldnt at turn 5 need to cast it. Instead your opponents should have quit the game for having there entire mana base or key cards removed
Silvergill Adept is way better than Elvish Visionary in this kind of tribal deck and it will be reprinted in the upcomming Ixalan expansion
Echoing Ruin is a bad option on the second view because it says "and each other Artifact with the same name" so it isnt a real option because the other cards are mostly not artifacts and wouldnt be effected by it.The best option could be Ancient Grudge because for flashback
I have also thought about Disrupting Shoal as a 2 drop
As Foretold is predestinated to cast Lotus Bloom and other suspend only spells. Lotus Bloom as mana boost is great but one could also focus on Paradox Haze to increase the counter count for casting high-level spells like in Omniscience decks as second win-con
And yes, I know this is different for Panic Spellbomb because it says "When Panic Spellbomb is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay {R}. If you do, draw a card" but thats the only option you have. Both Traveler's Amulet and Æther Spellbomb require explicitely to be self sacrificed to activate the abilties
You know you can not double sacrifice a permanent due to a cost and to its ability? From the rules:117.10. Each payment of a cost applies to only one spell, ability, or effect. For example, a player can't sacrifice just one creature to activate the activated abilities of two permanents that each require sacrificing a creature as a cost. Also, the resolution of a spell or ability doesn't pay another spell or ability's cost, even if part of its effect is doing the same thing the other cost asks for.
I played Wake Thrasher in standard years ago and we used also cards like Pendelhaven to have more tap action and grand a boost to Wake Thrasher that is a little bit weak with its 1/1. I think this is a fun deck otherwise I would recommend more than in every other format to play the vintage merfolk standard baseAether VialForce of WillChallice of the VoidCavern of Soulsbecause vintage is full of hate and counter cards against anything possible
From the oracle rules:5/1/2007: These abilities are abilities of the Aura, not abilities granted to the creature. Only the Aura's controller can activate them.
Sounds like enviousness
