Deck Description

Urabrask into Moltensteel Dragon, Grave Titan (or Inferno Titan) or Wurmcoil Engine is just mean.

Changed sideboard:
-2 Pyrocalsm, +2 Slagstorm because my creatures can handle 3 damage.
-2 Obstinate Baloth, +2 Naturalize (or Nature's Claim). For those annoying artifacts.

Possible Changes:

-3 Beast Within, +3 Nature's Claim.
-4 Spellskite, +4 Overgrown Battlement.

Deck discussion for Primal Hunter (Jund)

You should give credit to the original designer of this deck;
Korey fay designed this deck, and placed 3rd at the star city games standard open in Cincinnati Ohio. :/

Sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine when people don't credit other people's works.

Yeesh. I was actually just posting it for my records. I plan to modify it. Didn't realize I hit the "Finished deck" option. My bad.

No worries man. It really is a solid deck, I love the list. Was thinking on building it myself... except I'm one of those "I shouldn't net deck" kinda guys, LOL.

I usually don't do the net deck thing either. But when something is good, I like to put my own spin on it and see if I can make it better. Perfect it.

What really sucks is I used to have SO much time to dedicate to deck building. Now? I'm lucky if I get to play a game of magic one time a week much less sit and build decks.

Guess that's what happens when you have too many damn interests lol

well, -2 revoker +2 urabrask. Trust me, it's amazing.
Other than that, I think it could deal with less discard. Discard is good, but to me 5 was always enough.

I also feel as if grim lavamancers are out of place... don't know what I'd add in their place, though. I think in my meta i'd rather have 4 spellskite. but that's just me, lol.

I recently just threw together a black green mid range list, if you wouldn't mind checking it out. Hopefully it can survive valakut, lol. it's called "Black Green... MACHINE"

I love Urabrask. I have him in my Big Red deck that runs Shrine of Burning Rage and Koth as well as my Rage Extractor Tezz deck. He is .. just .. sick.

The lavamancers were an eyesore for me as well. I'm sure they're good and all.. but there's gotta be something better for that card slot.

The removal and discard suite is alittle awkward.. I feel as though there should be more removal.. possibly 1 more, and 1 less discard. There is even more in the sideboard. So I'll be doing some light editing.. once I get the cards to do so.

I'll check out your "Black Green MACHINE" and see if I can help.

It's a great deck, it just needs some meta tweaks (the jund,).

And thanks, man (:

The changes I made are a little more control.. so I hope it works.

I can't decide between Spellskite or Overgrown Battlement. Spellskite can protect the Cobra and Lavamancers early, as well as shut down Splinter Twin and Caw Go equips. The battlements will just ramp up nice.

I added in Torpor Orbs and Urabrask to screw people's game plans. By doing so, I had to rid myself of the Grave Titans and add in Wurmcoil Engines, which I think are just better anyway, especially against board sweeps.. and you gotta love the lifelink.

I loved the Simulacrums, but was forced to change them out for the spellskite/overgrown battlement because of the Torpor Orb.

What do you think?

I also removed the lightning bolts and Go for the Throats for doom blades because of spellskite. I removed the 3 dismembers for Beast within because it can target Tempered Steel and my spellskites can block the tokens without dying. Seemed like a good change...

Changed the manabase to more accurately reflect the removal of Grave Titan in needing double black, to the inclusion of Urabrask needing double red.

I think Phyrexian Revoker is better than Spellskite because it shuts down both enemy Planeswalkers and stops Splinter Twin. :b

Also GFTT is much better at my FNM than Doom Blade since so many people are playing mono black with Phyrexian Obliterator and like Lashwrithe. :p

As for your version i can't believe you cut down on the Grave Titans and took out bolt from the maindeck! I see Wurmcoil/Beast Within as a more of control cards then aggro. :(

What's wrong with Solemn Simulacrum? It's great man fixing that lets you hit all your bombs a turn earlier. :(

Okay thanks for looking at my deck, yours is pretty sweet i think Urabrask is an awesome addition, although i think he works with Grave Titan better. ; )

Thanks for the comments!

I'm just trying to attack from a control angle. Against fast aggro decks, this deck will suffer a bit.

Don't get me wrong, the original list is great. I'm just trying to put my own spin on it.

I chose Torpor Orb over the "comes into play" abilities. That setup works really nice with urabrask, as does Wurmcoil and Moltensteel. That's where all my offense will come from and it will work nicely more often than not because of Spellskite.

I haven't tested it yet, but it seems to have some pretty good synergy on paper.

hmm... i really dislike a few things. :/
i think that moltensteel is just a horrible card in general. I mean, why pay 4 mana, and 4 life, or 6 mana in total for a 4/4 that can pump... you'd be a lot better off with inferno titans or grave titans. they just dominate the meta right now.
also i think torpor orb is relatively useless with the banning of sgtoneforge now.

now solemns? D:
he was ramp and card advantage. i'd find a spot for him, again.

i do however like the beast withins! my favorite green instant. ;P
and also, i think dismembers are almost essential, now. with phyrexian metamorphs copying obliterators... you really need to be quick.
