First thing: you need fetch lands 6-8 of them. Yes, they really are that good. Phyrexian Arena's cool, but Dark Confidant is better. Ofcourse if you're on a tight budget you can still go with Phyrexian Arena but I'd play 4 of them (or 4 Confidants). Liliana's Caress is basicly useless since you'll probably discard the opponent first and by the time Liliana's Caress is active, he'll no longer have any cards in his hand for you to discard. It would probably be better if you replace it with The Rack. Also, I'd much rather run 4x Inquisition of Kozilek than Duress. Getting rid of Doom Blade would also be a good idea. If I were you, I'd run 4x Dismember and 2x Geth's Verdict. You also don't need Sadistic Sacrament. It's better if you and two more Specters and/or Obliterators.Cards that I would also run in such a deck: Gatekeeper of Malakir, Sensei's Divinig Top, Vampire Nighthawk.I hope you'll find my comment useful.
fetch lands in mono black....i dont´t think so. cabal coffers will be better (with Urbog). Thanks for rest clue, dismember is good and liliana´s care is out.
The thing about fetch lands that most people don't understand: they're not there just to fix your mana and fetch your duals, their role is far more important. Each fecth land basicly draws you an additional card. Each time you fetch you remove another land from your deck and by doing so you have greater chances of drawing a non-land card during your draw phase. This is the beauty of fetches. It's hard to understand, I didn't understand why people play fetch lands untill I tried it myself. It makes a HUGE difference. That's why almost every legacy deck is running fetch lands. I'm wasn't trying to be mean or condecending with my post, I was just trying to explain why I thought including fetch lands in a mono black deck is a good idea.
