Post RTR Mill - Eye on M15

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (8 cards)

Instants (8)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I wanted to create a Mill deck that would be in tact after the RTR rotation.

How to Play

The obvious premise of this deck is to force your opponent to mill down his deck. In the early stages of the game the premise is to get cheap walls out and to protect them as long as possible. In the process using cards like Mind sculpt and returned centaur to slowly widdle away at the oppontnets deck. Once ive created a solid defense its time to unleash the superstars. Ashiok and Phenax. Both of these cards are milling MACHINES and once they get going its often a quick GG.

Phenax pairs perfectly with my bulky walls as his SA works off of toughness.

Bile Blight can be a real super star when going up against decks that like to put out ALOT of small tokens which can be a problem for my team.

Any advice would be appreciated :) especially in terms of a sideboard.

Deck discussion for Post RTR Mill - Eye on M15

I would suggest giving yourself some type of card draw since you are in blue. I'm not sure what the best card draw in standard is currently, but I know that to keep mill viable you will need to keep card advantage as well as having strong control.
I would ditch the mindsculpts and replace them with counters or card draw, rely more on your reoccurring mill options like the god, and focus the deck on protecting him and your other creatures.

i use phenax as my main mill option in my standard mill deck. just turtle with walls until you drop him and then go to town

What are some good counters that I'm not already using? Possibly run dissolve to help guard the Phenax? What are some other good post RTR counters? Card draw is fairly limited divination allows you to draw 2. You think I can trim some fat anywhere else besides culling those mind sculpts. 7 cards is a pretty big chunk. I am def open to suggestions.

Really it will depend on what comes out in khans. M15 didnt have any real game-changers in it for mill

you think possibly dropping mind sculpt down to 2 and throwing 2 more thoughtseize in there would help with my protection issue? I might go for traumatizes till M14 rotates out.

im opposed to running too many thoughtsieze only because with mill you dont always have creature protection so every life counts. i personally like mind sculpt because 7 for 2 is pretty good. traumatize is good too, but i would only add 2 of them so you dont make your curve lopsided

just came across guardians of meletis again. 0/6 artifact creature with defender for 3 colorless. that might be something you could consider for this deck. makes a good blocker and combos nicely with phenax

I'm liking your revision. Let us know how it plays the next time you get a chance and good luck with it. For the side board it depends on what kind of decks play in your area and what you can do to defend against them.
